Job summary

ePlane Company is seeking a Mid–Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Composites) to design and optimize sub-assembly and assembly processes for airframes. You will coordinate with Manufacturing, QA and design teams to realize composite parts and ensure smooth integration into assemblies.

The role emphasizes bonding, fixture/tooling, and process documentation, with focus on manufacturability, quality, and cost efficiency in aerospace compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in manufacturing sub-assembly and assembly of composites structures in aerospace.
• Familiarity with various composites materials and manufacturing processes, assembly and tooling is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for sub-assembly and airframe assembly.
• Optimize facility layout, utilities, equipment selection, installation and commissioning.
• Specify, source, validate and maintain capital equipment like CNC routers, ovens and bonding tools.
• Apply bonding and fastening expertise to meet assembly design requirements.
• Oversee bonding prep including surface treatment, adhesive application and cure optimization.
• Propose repair and rework strategies as part of RCCA involvement.
• Create detailed work instructions, process docs and tooling specs.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality and production to ensure manufacturability and aerospace standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to improve yield and reduce scrap.
• Support NPI, lean/Six Sigma initiatives and continuous improvement.
• Perform DFM/DFA assessments to ensure airframe component manufacturability.
• Experience with Excel, PowerPoint/Google Suite and PLM systems.
• Adhere to timelines, budgets and output quality.
• Basic knowledge on cost estimation and time studies for projects.
• Fundamental knowledge of QMS, QC tools and metrology; basics of GD&T, fits and assembly.
• Basic knowledge of PFD, PFMEA and control plans.

As a Mid senior Level Manufacturing engineer -Composites, you will be responsible for design & optimization ofmanufacturing processes for sub-assembly & assembly for eVTOL airframesprototype manufacturing & supporting in assembly integration. The candidatewill be responsible for interacting with Manufacturing, QA, Structural design & other cross functional teams in realization of composites parts, sub-assembly and prove out.
