Responsibilities

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a seasoned Functional Test Engineer with 8+ years of total IT experience (including 5+ years of core manual testing) to join our team in Chennai. In this role, you will own end-to-end quality assurance, analyze complex business requirements, and leverage modern testing techniquesincluding AI-assisted testing toolsto ensure the highest standards of product stability. This is an on-site role (5 days a week) looking for candidates who can join immediately.Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Testing: Perform comprehensive manual, functional, exploratory, regression, UI, usability, and cross-browser testing across web applications.
• Artifact Management: Analyze business requirements to derive test scenarios and detailed test cases. Maintain test data, validation rules, and test environments.
• Defect Lifecycle Management: Identify, log, track, and perform clear root cause analysis on defects using tools like JIRA/Azure DevOps.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners within a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment.
• Modern QA Practices: Leverage AI-powered testing tools for intelligent test case generation, synthetic test data creation, and requirement impact analysis.
• Reporting & Risk Mitigation: Contribute to test metrics, dashboards, and reporting while proactively escalating risks and production issues.

Required Skills & Experience (Mandatory)

• Experience: 8+ years in IT with 5+ years of dedicated manual testing experience on web applications.
• QA Methodologies: Deep understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), test design techniques, and quality assurance workflows.
• API & Data Validation: Hands-on experience with REST API testing (using Postman or JMeter) and writing SQL queries for backend data validation.
• Agile Ecosystem: Proficient with JIRA or Azure DevOps in a Scrum framework.
• AI & Modern Testing Exposure: Familiarity or hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT-based tools) for test case/data generation, defect prediction, or requirement analysis.

Good to Have (Preferred Skills)

• Experience with Mobile App Testing (Android and iOS).
• Exposure to performance testing via JMeter.
• Basic understanding of test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Xray test management tool.
• Experience in testing AI-enabled or AI-native applications.
