Job summary

Ola Electric is seeking an experienced Manager – Vehicle Durability Testing & Validation in Bengaluru to lead end-to-end durability validation for 2-wheeler programs. You will oversee multi-terrain testing fleets, ensure timelines, and drive RCAs to meet quality targets.

You will manage test planning, resources, and cross-functional collaboration with Design, Quality, Supplier, and Manufacturing teams while maintaining strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8–12 years hands-on experience in 2-wheeler/auto/EV durability testing & validation.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and test track protocols.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute durability test plans and DVP/DVP&R for 2-wheeler programs.
• Manage test fleet, resources, and schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
• Lead failure investigations, RCA, and implement countermeasures with engineering teams.
• Coordinate cross-functional field issue investigations and corrective actions.
• Lead and develop testing team while upholding safety standards.
• Provide progress reporting on timelines, budget, and manpower.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Manager - Vehicle Durability Testing & Validation to lead and oversee end-to-end 2-wheeler durability validation programs. You will manage multi-terrain, rough-road, abusive, and real-world durability testing fleets, ensure timeline compliance, and drive key failure investigations to ensure quality targets are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Planning & Execution: Prepare and execute comprehensive durability test plans, DVP/DVP&R, and test schedules for new and existing 2-wheeler programs.
• Resource & Logistics Management: Plan test vehicles, manpower, test tracks, instrumentation, maintenance, and spare parts to maintain fleet readiness.
• Track & Field Testing: Lead multi-terrain, rough-road, abusive, and real-world durability testing. Monitor vehicle mileage and ensure durability targets are met on schedule.
• Defect Analysis & RCA: Identify and prioritize vehicle failures. Analyze durability test data for failure trends, lead root cause analysis (RCA), and coordinate countermeasure implementation with engineering teams.
• Countermeasure Validation: Re-test and validate implemented engineering fixes to confirm problem resolution.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Design, Quality, Supplier, and Manufacturing teams to support field issue investigations and corrective actions.
• Team Leadership & Safety: Manage test engineers, technicians, test riders/drivers, and third-party testing agencies while maintaining strict safety standards.
• Reporting: Track project timelines, budget, and manpower, delivering progress reports to senior leadership.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Education: Engineering Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 8-12 years of hands-on experience in 2-Wheeler / Automotive / EV durability testing and validation.
• Domain Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems, durability testing methodologies, and test track protocols.
• Software & Tool Exposure:
  • Data Acquisition Tools: Influx, Vector, etc.
  • Defect Tracking Systems: FRACAS or equivalent.
  • PLM/CAD Exposure: Teamcenter or standard CAD/PLM tools.
  • Productivity: Google Suite.
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, team management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
