Job summary

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. seeks an engineer with hands-on expertise in fatigue and durability testing for vehicle components. You will perform strain gauging, data acquisition, and tests on road load rigs, coordinating with CAE/design teams to ensure realistic laboratory simulations and accurate results.

The role emphasizes familiarity with instruments like accelerometers, LVDTs, and load cells, along with software tools such as GlyphWorks, TCE, RPC, and UG for analysis and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience with fatigue and durability testing in vehicle components.
• Knowledge of test instrumentation and data collection processes.
• Exposure to CAD drawings and understanding component characteristics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fatigue durability tests and road load simulations.
• Set up strain gauging, WFT, and data acquisition during tests.
• Operate GlyphWorks, TCE and RPC software for test data analysis.
• Coordinate with CAE/design teams for durability lab requirements.
• Perform root cause analysis for durability/strength testing.
• Work with hydraulic actuators and simulate lab test conditions.

Job description

• Hands-on experience in Fatigue durability testing.
• Ability to understand vehicle component characteristics and drawing, ability to operate UG software.
• Ability to do strain gauging, WFT setups, data acquisition on track.
• Ability to operate GlyphWorks, TCE and RPC software.
• Understanding of Hydraulic actuator and setup functionality for durability lab requirements. Coordination with CAE/ design team.
• Ability to operate Road load simulation Rigs, ensuring accurate testing simulation.
• Root cause failure analysis for durability and strength testing.

Technical / Functional:

• Strong fundamentals and knowledge in related functional areas i.e. CAE/ suspension design/ sheet metal/ knowledge of materials, theory of elasticity/ plasticity.
• Knowledge of basic instruments i.e. accelerometer, LVDT, Strain gauging, Load cell.
• Exposure to physical testing and ability to understand test conditions.
• AI/ML and Automation scripting use in testing (optional exposure).
