Job summary

Quess IT Solutions is seeking a Durability CAE Engineer in Chennai to independently perform component and system level simulations for multiple load cases in the durability domain. You will lead one vehicle system such as Body, Closures, Chassis, Exterior or Interior durability tasks to meet quality and delivery requirements.

Ideal candidates have 1–4 years of automotive experience, strong engineering fundamentals, and familiarity with listed CAE tools.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of relevant technical experience in automobile industry with broad domain knowledge.
• Good engineering fundamentals required.
• Experience with durability/strength/stiffness attributes of vehicle systems and components.

Responsibilities

• Perform CAE simulations at component and system level for various durability load cases independently.
• Handle one vehicle system (Body, Closures, Chassis, Exterior, Interior) durability load cases and meet quality and delivery.
• Conduct root cause studies to understand and resolve issues at component and system level, provide enabling actions.
• Execute virtual scorecard assessments for low to medium complexity components and subsystems to support design release timing.
• Prepare and present durability activities executed in various forums.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

• Be able to work Independently at Component and System level CAE simulations for various load cases in Durability domain
• Handle one of the vehicle systems like Body, Closures, Chassis, Exterior and Interior durability load cases independently and meet the quality and delivery requirements
• Able to do root cause studies to understand / resolve the issues at component and system level and provide Enablers
• Execute virtual scorecard assessment for (Low and medium Complexity ) components, sub systems and systems to support design release timing
• Should able to prepare and present the durability activities executed in various forums

Qualifications, Experience and Competency requirements

Preferred Education

• B.E, B.Tech (Mechanical, Automobile, Production Engineering), M.E, M.Tech Preferable

Preferred Experience

Essential:

• 1 to 4 years of relevant technical experience in Automobile industry with wide-spread domain knowledge
• Good Knowledge in Engineering fundamentals
• Good Tool Knowledge mentioned below
• working knowledge in Durability/Strength/Stiffness attributes of one / multiple systems of Vehicle systems and components (Body, Closures, Chassis, Exterior & Interior).

Desirable:

• Product understanding of full Vehicle / Systems / Components and its functionality
• Working knowledge in Linear, Non Linear Static / Dynamic Simulations
• Experience in providing design proposals
• Experience working with OEMs in Vehicle durability
• Working knowledge in Fatigue software nCode
