Training & Development Specialist

Develop, deliver, and monitor training programs for the general workforce and for targeted discipline or technical areas.

Responsibilities

• Create training curriculum and materials.
• Select appropriate delivery mechanisms.
• Deliver training sessions.
• Monitor training effectiveness.
• Discipline/technical training – provide professional and process/tool knowledge training (e.g., finance function training on external accounting standards and internal financial systems/control processes).
• Discipline/technical competency training – provide influence and negotiation training for sales representatives.
• Non‑technical training – deliver general workplace standards, processes, and tools training (e.g., supervisor training, employee time entry, email).
• Non‑technical skills training – provide verbal & written communications, time management, basic spreadsheet/document creation.
• Leadership and management development training.
• Select and oversee vendors for training content or delivery.
• Act as experienced specialist – drive development of new solutions for programs and complex projects.
• Serve as final decision maker and mentor others in area of expertise.
• Ensure implementation of short‑to‑medium term activities aligned with departmental strategy.
• Ensure policies, processes, and standards are developed and implemented to support tactical direction.
• Lead a team of specialists with full employee lifecycle responsibility.
