Job summary

Reliance Industries (RIL) Jamnagar invites a Safety Leader to drive safety leadership and culture across the assigned manufacturing area, improve hazard reporting and employee participation, and uphold high discipline and compliance.

The role covers critical risk management, HAZOP, PSSR, MOC, incident prevention, investigation, CAPA closure and training to build competent teams, with a relentless focus on preventing serious events and sustaining safe operation.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of ISO 14001/45001 for industrial automation.
• Experience with battery handling, testing, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Support the Sr. Manager in implementing the Safety Strategy across the assigned manufacturing area.
• Execute Process Safety Management activities including Task Risk Assessments, HAZOP action closure, PSSR, MOC implementation and Critical Control verification.
• Conduct Machine Safety Risk Assessments and ensure effective implementation of machine guarding, interlocks, emergency stops, functional safety requirements and safe equipment commissioning.
• Implement controls for process-specific risks within the assigned area (e.g., powders and NMP in Electrode; lasers, electrolyte and dry rooms in Assembly; high-voltage systems, formation cycling and thermal risks in Formation).
• Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, workplace risk assessments and legal compliance verification; ensure timely closure of identified actions.
• Drive contractor safety, permit-to-work compliance, LOTO implementation and safe maintenance practices.
• Promote a positive safety culture through field presence, quality safety observations, behavioral interventions, toolbox talks and Stop Work Authority.
• Lead incident reporting, preliminary investigation, root cause analysis, CAPA implementation and sharing of operational learning within the assigned area.
• Monitor critical safety barriers, safety KPIs and operational discipline to sustain safe manufacturing performance.
• Develop operator and contractor competency through structured safety training, coaching and on-the-job guidance.
