Job summary

JobItUs in India is seeking a Process Safety Specialist to uphold PSM compliance, conduct risk studies, and support safety improvements across the plant. The role requires hands-on experience with HAZOP, LOPA, MOC, PSSR, HIRA, and RCA, plus knowledge of chemical process operations and risk assessment techniques.

You will coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, and EHS teams, review SOPs, lead incident investigations, and deliver training to plant personnel to maintain high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM).
• Hands-on experience in HAZOP, LOPA, MOC, PSSR, HIRA, and RCA.
• Knowledge of chemical process operations and risk assessment techniques.
• Familiarity with statutory safety regulations and best practices.
• Good analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) standards and statutory safety requirements.
• Conduct HAZOP, HIRA, JSA, LOPA, PSSR, and risk assessment studies.
• Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and implement CAPA.
• Review and update SOPs, operating procedures, and emergency response plans.
• Monitor critical process safety parameters and recommend improvements.
• Participate in Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) activities.
• Conduct process safety audits and ensure closure of observations.
• Provide process safety training and awareness to plant personnel.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and EHS teams to enhance plant safety and reliability.
• Support implementation of process safety improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
