Position Overview
We are seeking a high-performing RCM Coding Manager to lead, empower, and scale our Center of Excellence (COE) coding operations. In this role, you will be pivotal in shaping our functional coding strategy, driving operational excellence, and ensuring coding accuracy and compliance across multi-specialty practices. You will manage and mentor Team Managers and certified coders, serving as a key operational leader who bridges teams across geographies, resolves complex coding denial trends, and drives sustainable revenue cycle success.
What You’ll Do (Primary Responsibilities)
- Lead & Empower Teams : Oversee day-to-day operations for Team Managers and Coders. Foster an inclusive, supportive, and employee-focused workplace where team members thrive, achieve high productivity, and meet quality standards.
- Drive Functional Strategy & Optimization : Develop and refine coding accuracy protocols, workflow standardization, and proactive denial-reduction strategies across multiple specialties.
- Enable Quality & Continuous Learning : Lead quality review programs, analyze denial trends, and deliver insights/training to reduce quarterly denials and elevate overall team expertise.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner closely with onshore US-based RCM teams and global COE units to share insights, resolve systemic claim denials, and implement long-term solutions.
- Scale & Grow Operations : Support the strategic growth of the COE coding team by leading hiring, onboarding, and structured training aligned with our expansion goals.
Basic Qualifications
What You Bring (Qualifications & Experience)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in any stream (Life Sciences preferred).
- Certifications: Active AAPC or AHIMA coding certification (CPC, COC, CCS, or CCS-P required).
- Industry Experience:
- 12+ years of experience as a multi-specialty surgical coder.
- 5+ years of dedicated denial coding experience.
- Comprehensive multi-specialty expertise (including Orthopedics, Podiatry, Ophthalmology, ENT, OB/GYN, Dermatology, and E/M).
- Leadership Experience: 5+ years of experience leading coding teams of 30+ certified coders and/or Team Managers.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong mastery of US healthcare payer guidelines, CARC/RARC, NCCI edits, LCD, and bundling rules.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Experience working directly with cross-geographic and global coding teams.
- Proven track record of cultivating a positive, supportive work culture aligned with company values.
- Excellent analytical abilities to identify operational trends, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver executive-level presentations (QBRs/weekly reports).
- Exceptional communication, delegation, and escalation-handling skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
