Responsibilities

• Direct shift operations for handling fertilizer and mineral cargo.

• Manage allocation of equipment and labor to support efficient cargo handling.
• Conduct safety briefings and enforce PPE usage.
• Coordinate with client representatives, transporters and internal teams.
• Maintain records of shift operations and cargo handling rates.

Purpose/Objective

In Charge - Backup Fertilizer and Minerals Operations is responsible for leading the shift activities related to the handling and processing of fertilizer and mineral cargo at the port.

This role ensures that operations during the shift are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with the port's operational standards and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities of Role

• Shift Management: Direct shift operations for the handling of fertilizer and mineral cargo, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of activities.
• Operational Oversight: Monitor vessel loading and unloading operations, rake handling, and cargo storage, taking corrective actions as needed to maintain operational efficiency.
• Resource Management: Assess and manage the allocation of resources, including equipment and labor, to support efficient cargo handling during the shift.
• Safety Compliance: Conduct safety briefings, enforce the use of personal protective equipment, and maintain a safe working environment throughout the shift.
• Communication and Coordination: Facilitate effective communication with client representatives, transporters, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Quality Control: Oversee the quality and quantity of cargo during handling, ensuring that all operations meet the required standards.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate records of shift operations, including cargo handling rates and resource utilization.
• Digital Mindset: Keep up with digital and AI advancements to enhance business and maintain competitiveness.
