Job summary

Nuvoco Vistas Corporation (Nuvoco) is seeking a Jetty Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day jetty operations, vessel movements and clinker loading in Kutch, Gujarat. You will coordinate with shipping agents, port authorities, customs and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective cargo movement.

The role requires 6+ years in logistics, shipping, port or jetty operations, with a degree in Logistics/Marine Operations and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's / Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Marine Operations or related discipline.
• Additional certification in Shipping, Port Operations or Customs procedures will be an advantage.
• 6+ years of experience in logistics, shipping, port or jetty operations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute coastal movement of cement bags via vessels and coordinate berthing and loading/unloading.
• Manage jetty operations including loading/unloading of cement cargo and ensure smooth cargo flow with optimum turnaround time.
• Ensure adherence to port, customs and maritime regulations; liaise with Customs, Port Authorities and DG Shipping.
• Coordinate with vessel operators, shipping teams and port officials for vessel scheduling, loading plans and dispatch execution.

Role: Jetty Operations Manager
Designation : Manager
Location: Kutch, Gujarat (Bhuj)

Purpose:

The role holder shall be responsible for managing day-to-day jetty operations, ensuring smooth vessel and barge movements, coordinating clinker loading activities, handling customs documentation and maintaining efficient logistics operations.
The role requires close coordination with shipping agents, port authorities, transporters, customs officials and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective cargo movement.

Job Description:

1. Port & Coastal Operations

• Plan and execute coastal movement of finished goods (cement bags) via vessels.
• Coordinate vessel scheduling, berthing, loading/unloading operations.
• Ensure optimum turnaround time (TAT) for vessels and maximize asset utilization.
• Oversee stevedoring operations and cargo handling through mechanized/manual systems.
• Monitor cargo dispatches to destination ports aligned with market demand.

2. Operations & Maintenance

• Manage jetty operations including loading/unloading of cement cargo.
• Ensure smooth cargo flow from plant to vessel with optimum turnaround time (TAT).
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure high equipment uptime (conveyors, loaders, hoppers, etc.).
• Drive operational efficiency, productivity, and minimize delays.

3. Compliance & Regulatory

• Ensure adherence to port, customs, and maritime regulations.
• Liaise with Customs, Port Authorities, Maritime Board, DG Shipping, etc.
• Maintain compliance with safety, ISPS, environmental, and audit requirements.
• Manage documentation for coastal shipments / EXIM (if applicable).

4. Marine & Technical Coordination

• Coordinate with vessel operators, shipping teams, and port officials for:
• Vessel scheduling and berthing
• Loading plans and dispatch execution
• Understand jetty constraints such as draft, berth availability, and tidal conditions.
• Ensure safe and efficient vessel operations through cross-functional coordination.

Eligibility:

Qualification:

• Bachelor's / Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Marine Operations or a related discipline.
• Additional certification in Shipping, Port Operations or Customs procedures will be an advantage.

Experience:

• 6+ years of experience in logistics, shipping, port or jetty operations.
• Experience in cement, clinker, bulk cargo, ports, marine logistics or terminal operations is preferred.
• Hands-on experience in barge chartering, bulk cargo handling and clinker loading is essential.
