Job summary

Crescendo Global Leadership Hiring India is seeking a senior Quality Assurance professional based at the head office to own end-to-end QA for wind turbine components, ensuring IEC 61400 and quality standards compliance. The role involves leading supplier audits, AVL upkeep, QAPs, and CAPA actions across towers, blades, nacelles, and gearboxes.

You will drive FAT, erection/commissioning QA, coordinate with OEMs and certification bodies, and manage NCR/CAR processes while ensuring timely quality

Qualifications

• 7–12 years of experience in wind turbine, aerospace, or heavy-engineering QA.
• Hands-on exposure at a WTG OEM or Tier-1 supplier preferred.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification and ASNT Level II NDT required; AWS CWI/IWE preferred.
• Strong understanding of IEC 61400 standards and QA processes.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end Quality Assurance for WTG components, ensuring IEC 61400 compliance.
• Lead vendor qualification, AVL maintenance, and QAP development.
• Drive manufacturing QA across tower, blade, nacelle, gearbox, and control systems.

CANDIDATE MUST BE BASED IN HEAD OFFICE NOT PROJECT SITES

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end Material Quality Assurance for WTG commodities, including towers, blades, nacelles, hubs, gearboxes, generators, converters, pitch/yaw systems and control systems, ensuring compliance with the IEC 61400 series and applicable quality standards.
• Lead vendor qualification and pre-supply audits for WTG OEMs and component suppliers, maintain the Approved Vendor List (AVL), and establish robust Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs) and specifications.
• Drive manufacturing and factory quality assurance, including tower fabrication, welding, NDT, coating, blade composite manufacturing, nacelle assembly, gearbox endurance testing, generator testing, and converter performance validation.
• Manage and witness FAT activities for critical WTG components, ensuring compliance with approved specifications, IEC standards, inspection plans, and customer requirements.
• Lead site-receipt, installation, and commissioning quality activities, including tower inspection, blade checks, torque-tension verification, reliability runs, PR/AEP tests, power-curve verification, and pitch/yaw calibration.
• Drive NCR/CAR closure and CAPA, ensuring timely resolution of quality issues with OEMs and suppliers while identifying opportunities for preventive and continuous improvement actions.
• Monitor quality budgets, MIS, standards, and certification requirements, coordinating with DNV, TV, BV, Kiwa and other certification bodies for type certification and compliance updates.
• Provide cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management across Engineering, SCM, Procurement, Projects, Construction Quality, Site teams, OEMs, suppliers and TPIAs, leveraging strong communication, negotiation, technical expertise, integrity, and crisis-resolution capabilities.

Requirements

• Experience: 7–12 years of relevant experience in wind turbine, aerospace, or heavy-engineering quality assurance, preferably with hands-on exposure at a WTG OEM or Tier-1 supplier; experience in 20+ WTG erection QA campaigns will be an added advantage.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or Materials Engineering.
• Certifications: ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and ASNT Level II NDT certification required; AWS CWI / IWE certification preferred.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of IEC 61400 standards, WTG components, manufacturing quality, NDT, FAT, erection, commissioning, and inspection processes.
• Industry Exposure: Proven ability to manage supplier/OEM quality, site quality activities, audits, NCR/CAR closure, and cross-functional stakeholder coordination.
