Job summary

Indiana Group is seeking a Manager – Projects to oversee complex fabrication and engineering projects from Mumbai and Vadodara. You will coordinate engineering, production, procurement, quality, and site teams to meet budgets and schedules, while maintaining strong client relationships and proactive risk management.

The role requires a BE in Mechanical Engineering with 12+ years in project management, preferably in material handling systems or steel fabrication.

Qualifications

• B.E. in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 12+ years of experience in project management, preferably in material handling systems, conveyor systems, steel fabrication, or engineering projects.
• Experience with cost control, scheduling, and client coordination.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely completion of projects within approved budgets, agreed timelines, and contractual requirements.
• Conduct project review meetings with engineering, production, procurement, quality, and site teams; monitor progress and risks, implement corrective actions.
• Act as primary point of contact for customers during project execution and manage expectations.
• Monitor project costs against budgets and margins; identify overruns and implement corrective measures.
• Identify project risks related to material availability, design, manufacturing, logistics, and site execution; develop mitigation plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure timely completion of projects within approved budgets, agreed timelines, and contractual requirements.
• Conduct project review meetings with engineering, production, procurement, quality, and site teams. Monitor project progress, identify risks, implement corrective actions, and provide periodic updates to management.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout project execution, manage customer expectations, and resolve technical and execution‑related issues.
• Monitor project costs against approved budgets and estimated project margins, identify cost overruns, and implement corrective measures to maintain profitability.
• Identify project risks related to material availability, design, manufacturing, logistics, and site execution; develop mitigation plans and elevate critical risks promptly.

Required Skills And Experience

• Qualification: B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 12+ years of relevant experience in project management, preferably in material handling systems, conveyor systems, steel fabrication, or engineering projects.

Required Competencies

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of conveyor systems and other material handling equipment.
• Understanding of mechanical drawings, fabrication processes, engineering specifications, and quality inspection procedures.
• Familiarity with project scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera, along with ERP systems.
• Knowledge of project costing, budget control, risk management, and project documentation.
• Strong client relationship management and contract coordination skills.
