Job Description: Manager – Project Delivery (Electrical) - MPR-642Position Overview
The Manager – Project Delivery (Electrical) will be responsible for planning, managing, and delivering electrical projects from initiation through completion. The role requires strong project leadership, technical understanding, stakeholder coordination, and commercial awareness to ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with approved quality standards. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, and drive effective project governance throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Execution
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of electrical projects, including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, commissioning, and closeout.
- Develop and maintain project execution plans, schedules, resource plans, cost plans, risk registers, and delivery milestones.
- Translate project objectives, specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements into clear execution strategies.
- Monitor project progress against approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety targets.
- Identify project constraints and implement timely corrective and preventive actions.
Technical and Engineering Coordination
- Review electrical designs, drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, method statements, and technical submissions.
- Coordinate with design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure design readiness and constructability.
- Resolve technical issues, design interfaces, site constraints, and engineering queries in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure electrical installations and systems are delivered in accordance with approved designs, applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Support testing, commissioning, energization, handover, and performance verification activities.
Team and Stakeholder Management
- Lead and guide project managers, engineers, supervisors, contractors, and site delivery teams.
- Define responsibilities, establish performance expectations, and promote effective collaboration across project functions.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and senior management.
- Conduct regular progress meetings and ensure accurate reporting of achievements, risks, issues, decisions, and action items.
- Build strong working relationships and manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Commercial, Procurement, and Cost Control
- Monitor project costs, commitments, variations, claims, invoices, and forecast-to-complete values.
- Coordinate with procurement and commercial teams to support timely sourcing of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Review contractor and supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contractual, technical, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Assess scope changes and support the evaluation, documentation, and approval of variations and claims.
- Promote cost-effective delivery while maintaining project quality, safety, and performance standards.
Risk, Quality, and Compliance
- Establish and maintain project risk, issue, change, and opportunity management processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical regulations, technical standards, permit requirements, client procedures, and organizational policies.
- Implement quality assurance and quality control processes, including inspections, testing, documentation, and nonconformance management.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure that project activities are conducted in accordance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Support audits, inspections, incident investigations, and the implementation of improvement actions.
Reporting and Project Closeout
- Prepare and present regular project performance reports covering scope, schedule, cost, resources, risks, quality, safety, and overall delivery status.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, records, approvals, correspondence, and progress evidence.
- Coordinate punch-list closure, as-built documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, training, final testing, and formal handover.
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of project delivery processes and standards.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 7 years and maximum 10 years of relevant experience in electrical project delivery, engineering, construction, infrastructure, facilities, industrial, commercial, or related environments.
- Proven experience managing electrical projects from planning and execution through testing, commissioning, handover, and closeout.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, electrical systems, installation practices, construction coordination, and commissioning activities.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, schedules, technical documentation, and project contracts.
- Demonstrated experience managing project schedules, budgets, resources, risks, changes, contractors, and suppliers.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make effective decisions in a fast-paced project environment.
- Proficiency in project planning, reporting, documentation, and standard project management tools.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and ethical project delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.

- Project management certification or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and complex electrical interfaces.
- Familiarity with construction contracts, procurement processes, commercial controls, variation management, and claims administration.
- Experience working with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use project data to identify trends, risks, and delivery improvements.
