Dec Group in India seeks a Senior Project Engineering Lead to oversee the project planning, execution, installation, and commissioning, with overall responsibility for cost, quality, safety, and timely completion across a large team.

You will guide and mentor a substantial team of Project Engineers, coordinate with design, production, vendors, and customers, and ensure adherence to IMS standards and customer specifications.

Job description

Job Purpose: Lead and manage the Project Engineering function with overall responsibility for project planning, execution, installation, commissioning, cost, quality, safety, and timely completion of projects while effectively managing and developing a team of 1011 Project Engineers.

Roles

• 1 Ensure overall project execution, installation, commissioning, and project milestones are completed as per approved plans and timelines.
• 2 Lead, guide, and monitor a team of 1011 Project Engineers for effective project execution and timely delivery.
• 3 Review project schedules, progress, costs, resource requirements, and key execution milestones on a regular basis.
• 4 Ensure effective coordination with internal departments, vendors, contractors, customers, and site teams for smooth project execution
• 5 Identify project risks, delays, cost overruns, and execution bottlenecks and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
• 6 Monitor overall project portfolio performance and provide regular project status, cost, risk, and forecast reports to management.
• 7 Ensure compliance with quality, safety, IMS, technical specifications, company procedures, and customer requirements across all projects.

Responsibilities

• a Develop and review project execution strategies, master schedules, resource plans, and project milestones.
• b Lead and mentor Project Engineers and ensure effective allocation of projects, responsibilities, and resources within the team.
• c Review daily, weekly, and monthly project progress and ensure timely completion of critical activities and deliverables.
• d Monitor project budgets, costs, cash flow, forecasts, and resource utilization and initiate actions to control project costs.
• e Coordinate with Design, Production, Purchase, Quality, Finance, Service, vendors, contractors, and customers to resolve project-related issues
• f Review technical drawings, BOMs, project specifications, installation requirements, and commissioning plans to ensure execution readiness g Ensure timely resolution of project risks, technical issues, site constraints, resource gaps, and customer escalations.
• h Oversee machine assembly, installation, commissioning, site execution, and final project handover activities as required.
• i Establish effective project reporting, documentation, review mechanisms, and performance tracking across the Project Engineering team.
• j Conduct periodic project review meetings with the Project Engineering team and key stakeholders and drive action closure.
• k Support management in project forecasting, capacity planning, manpower planning, and strategic project execution decisions.
• l Develop team capability through coaching, technical guidance, performance monitoring, and identification of training requirements.
