Vital Therapeutics & Formulations in Hyderabad is seeking an experienced Manager - PPIC to lead production planning, scheduling, and inventory control for OSD, liquids, powders, and premixes across a CDMO setup.
The role interfaces with sales, procurement, QA/QC and production to ensure on-time delivery, optimal inventory turns, and efficient plant utilization, with a focus on ERP-driven planning and GMP compliance.

We are looking for an experienced PPIC Manager to lead production planning, scheduling, and inventory control across our multi-dosage-form manufacturing operations Oral Solid Dosage (OSD), Oral Liquids, Powders, and Premixes. This role sits at the intersection of sales, procurement, quality, and production, and is critical to ensuring on-time delivery, optimal inventory levels, and efficient plant utilization across a CDMO/CRMO environment serving multiple client brands.
Develop and maintain master production schedules across OSD (tablets/capsules), liquids, powders, and premix lines based on sales forecasts, client purchase orders, and plant capacity
Balance batch sizes, changeover times, and equipment/line constraints to maximize throughput while minimizing downtime
Coordinate cross-functionally with QA/QC, warehouse, procurement, and dispatch to ensure schedule adherence
Manage priority conflicts across multiple client orders in a multi-product, multi-dosage-form CDMO setup
Own raw material and packaging material (RM/PM) inventory planning reorder levels, safety stock, and lead-time buffers across all four dosage categories
Monitor finished goods inventory and coordinate dispatch planning with sales/logistics
Drive inventory optimization initiatives to reduce carrying costs, minimize expiry/obsolescence, and improve inventory turns
Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile with ERP/SAP records
Translate production schedules into accurate MRP runs; ensure procurement gets timely, accurate indents
Track vendor lead times and flag risks of stock-outs or excess inventory
Liaise with sales/BD teams to align production capacity with incoming client demand and new product launches
Publish daily/weekly/monthly production plans, adherence reports, OTIF (on-time-in-full) metrics, and inventory dashboards to leadership
Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for schedule deviations or stock-outs

Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, ERP utilization, and cross-functional SOPs
Ensure compliance with GMP documentation requirements as they pertain to planning and material issuance
Experience: Minimum 10 years in PPIC/Production Planning within the pharmaceutical industry, with proven experience spanning Oral Solid Dosage, Oral Liquids, Powders, and Premixes
Education: B.Pharm/M.Pharm, or B.Tech/M.Tech in a relevant field; MBA in Operations/Supply Chain is a plus
Industry background: CDMO/CMO/contract manufacturing experience strongly preferred given the multi-client, multi-brand production environment
Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) for production planning and inventory management
Sound understanding of GMP, batch documentation, and regulatory expectations as they relate to planning and material flow
Demonstrated experience managing capacity planning across multiple dosage-form lines simultaneously
Strong analytical skills comfortable building and interpreting OTIF, inventory turns, capacity utilization, and forecast accuracy metrics
Experience working in a multi-division manufacturing setup (pharma + nutraceutical/animal health exposure a plus)
Strong stakeholder management skills able to balance competing priorities from sales, QA, procurement, and clients
Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable on the shop floor as much as in planning meetings
