Keka is seeking an Executive / Sr.Executive for PPIC in Visakhapatnam to lead production and material planning for API manufacturing. The role requires coordinating across Manufacturing, QC, QA, Engineering and Purchase to ensure schedules align with capacity and regulatory commitments.

The candidate should have extensive PPIC experience in pharmaceutical API production, with strong knowledge of cGMP and inventory optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on forecasts, orders and capacity.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, QC, QA, Engineering and Purchase to follow schedules.
  • Monitor plan vs. actual production and take corrective actions for deviations.
  • Optimize batch sequencing to minimize changeovers, cleaning validation impact, and downtime.
  • Ensure planning aligns with regulatory commitments and approved manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and capacity expansion activities.

Position Title: Executive / Sr.Executive

Department: Production Planning & Inventory Control (PPIC)

Experience: 10 Years (API Pharma Mandatory)

Location: Visakhapatnam
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning
  • Prepare monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and capacity availability.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, QC, QA, Engineering, and Purchase departments to ensure adherence to approved production schedules.
  • Monitor plan vs. actual production and initiate corrective actions for deviations.
  • Optimize batch sequencing to minimize changeovers, cleaning validation impact, and downtime.
  • Ensure planning aligns with regulatory commitments and approved manufacturing processes.
Material Planning & Control
  • Plan and monitor raw materials, intermediates, solvents, packing materials, and consumables to support uninterrupted production.
  • Generate MRP / material requirement plans and track lead times to avoid shortages or excess inventory.
  • Coordinate with Purchase for timely procurement and follow-up with vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with approved vendors and material qualification status.
Inventory Management
  • Maintain optimum inventory levels to balance cost control and production continuity.
  • Monitor aging, slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventories, and initiate timely disposition.
  • Control inventory accuracy through periodic stock verification and reconciliation.
  • Support cycle counts, physical verification, and audit requirements.
Systems & Documentation
  • Prepare and maintain PPIC-related SOPs, formats, and records in compliance with cGMP requirements.
  • Generate MIS reports related to production, materials, inventory, and capacity utilization.
Coordination & Compliance
  • Act as a single point of contact for cross-functional coordination related to planning and scheduling.
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections (USFDA, EU, WHO, etc.) related to PPIC activities.
  • Ensure data integrity, traceability, and documentation readiness.
  • Identify opportunities for inventory optimization, cost reduction, and process improvement.
  • Support implementation of best practices in production planning and supply chain management.
  • Participate in cross‑functional projects and capacity expansion activities.
Preferred Attributes:
  • Exposure to regulatory audits related to planning and inventory.
  • Knowledge of Lean / Inventory optimization techniques.
  • Experience in managing multiple products and capacities.
  • Strong knowledge of API manufacturing processes and cGMP requirements.
  • Expertise in production planning, inventory control, and MRP.
