Job summary

Allianz Services Private Limited in Pune is seeking a seasoned Manager Operations to oversee end-to-end US insurance client operations from office. The role demands deep insurance domain knowledge, transition management, and a track record in automating processes, leading large teams, and engaging CXO stakeholders.

You will drive operational excellence, manage SLAs/KPIs, and shape strategy with senior leadership across Life, Retail and Commercial lines.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Insurance operations with Life/Retail/Commercial exposure.
• Experience leading US Insurance/Life & Annuity operations.
• End-to-end operations experience across value chain.
• Understanding of US insurance products, processes, lifecycle.
• Proven ability to manage large teams and client-facing senior stakeholders.
• Experience in SLAs, KPIs, quality, productivity, and migrations.
• Knowledge of automation and transformation impact with measurable outcomes.
• Strong program management and proposal development skills.
• Excellent PowerPoint storytelling and communication.
• Ability to work independently and in ambiguity.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Manager Insurance Operations to lead end-to-end operations for a strategic insurance client.
This is a high-impact leadership role requiring a strong combination of Insurance domain expertise ( Life, Retail, Commercial insurance ), transition management, automation, business development support,operational leadership, client management, project/program management, and executive communication.
The successful candidate will be responsible not only for ensuring operational excellence and meeting agreed service levels, but also for identifying opportunities to transform the operation, improve customer experience, drive automation, support new business pursuits and lead strategic initiatives for the client.
The individual should be equally comfortable running the business, improving the business and engaging confidently with senior client stakeholders and CXO-level audiences.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• 10+ years of overall experience, with significant experience in Insurance operations ( Life / Retail / Commercial ).
• Strong experience managing US Insurance / Life & Annuity operations / Retail / Commercial.
• Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end operations across the Life / Retail / Commercial Insurance value chain.
• Strong understanding of US Insurance products, processes and policy lifecycle.
• Proven experience managing large teams and multiple operational processes.
• Demonstrated experience in client-facing roles with senior US stakeholders.
• Proven experience in managing operational SLAs, KPIs, quality and productivity.
• Demonstrated experience in new client transitions / migrations.
• Demonstrated experience in building teams from scratch and scaling them.
• Demonstrated experience in driving automation and process transformation with measurable outcomes.
• Strong project management / program management experience.
• Proven experience creating new business proposals, RFP responses and client presentations.
• Excellent PowerPoint presentation and storytelling skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity and make sound business decisions.
• Willingness to work in a US night shift environment.
• Willingness to work 100% from office.

State Insurance Adjuster / Claims Adjuster certification or relevant US state insurance licensing

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, Operations, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Masters degree / MBA preferred.
• LOMA / FLMI / ALMI or equivalent Life Insurance certification preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
• PMP / PRINCE2 / Agile certification preferred.
• Experience working with Life Insurance policy administration platforms such as Guidewire, Majesco, Sapiens, Vitech, FAST, Oracle/legacy PAS platforms or similar is desirable.
• Exposure to RPA, AI/GenAI, workflow automation, process mining and analytics tools is preferred.
• Experience working with US clients and understanding US insurance operating models is strongly preferred.
