Job summary

DP World India is seeking an Ocean Export Operations specialist to oversee end-to-end ocean export shipments, from booking to vessel departure and closure. You will coordinate with customs brokers, agents, and internal teams to ensure timely execution.

You will monitor milestones, documentation timelines, and shipping instructions, while driving process improvements and adherence to SLAs.

Ocean Export Operations

• Oversee end-to-end ocean export shipments, from booking and documentation to vessel departure and shipment closure.
• Manage booking confirmations, container planning, shipping instructions, VGM submissions, and shipping line coordination.
• Monitor shipment milestones, vessel schedules, cut-offs, and documentation timelines.
• Ensure timely coordination with customs brokers, transporters, shipping lines, overseas agents, and internal teams.
• Proactively resolve operational delays, shipment exceptions, and documentation discrepancies.

Team & Performance Management

• Manage and guide the ocean export operations team, ensuring productivity and adherence to defined SLAs.
• Monitor operational KPIs, shipment volumes, turnaround times, and service quality.
• Allocate workloads, review team performance, and drive process standardization.
• Support team development, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

• Maintain strong customer relationships through timely communication and effective issue resolution.
• Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service, Pricing, and overseas agents to ensure seamless shipment execution.
• Handle escalations and ensure prompt resolution of customer complaints.
• Drive customer satisfaction through consistent service delivery and adherence to customer SOPs.

Compliance & Cost Management

• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, customs regulations, and internal operating procedures.
• Monitor detention, demurrage, and other avoidable operational costs.
• Ensure timely and accurate shipment documentation, system updates, and billing inputs.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and implement corrective actions to improve service quality and cost effectiveness.
