Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited [Automotive and Farm Equipment Business] is seeking an experienced Quality Lead for New Product Development. You will guide quality planning, drive APQP/PPAP, and leverage AI tools to enhance analysis and dashboards.

You will assess gateways, monitor CFD/CAE-related validation, and coordinate with Product Planning to meet timelines and satisfy customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have 7–9 years of experience in mechanical/automobile Engg with NPD and quality emphasis.
• Strong quality tools knowledge (FMEA, DVP, DFx) and APQP/PPAP understanding.
• Exposure to AI tools for analysis and dashboard creation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate quality planning activities in New Product Development projects.
• Assess and report status of deliverables at each gateway.
• Apply quality tools (7QC, FMEA, MSA, SPC) to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor validation deliverables (CFD, CAE simulations) during concept phase.
• Collaborate with Product Planning & Program Management to capture latent customer needs and ensure timely quality delivery.

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Responsibilities:

• 1. Adequate knowledge & Experience about New Product Development Systems & Process (Vehicle).
• 2. Lead and Coordinate the Quality Planning activates in NPD Projects.
• 3. Responsible for assessing and reporting the status of all the deliverables in each gateways.
• 4. Good knowledge in Quality Tools such 7QC-tools, FMEAs, DVP, DFA/ DFM, APQP, PPAP and Risk analysis.
• 4. Experience in using AI tools for analysis, drive better resutls and creation of dashboards.
• 5. Improve the Product Quality & customer satisfaction through PDCA of pervious Programs Lessons Learnt.
• 6. Monitoring the Virtual Validation deliverables such as CFD, CAE simulations etc. during concept phase.
• 7. Effective assessment of vehicle and system level validation such as Functional, Performance and Durability Tests.
• 8. Working closely with Product Planning & Program Management to capture customer latent needs and ensuring Quality delivered as per timelines.
• 9. Conceptualize and upgrade Quality systems in New Product Development Process while continuously benchmarking best practices in the industries:-
  • To plan and define roadmap for implementation of Quality systems for the various projects.
  • To imbibe quality culture in the CFT/CDT through regular interactions and quality workshops.

Key Deliverables:

• 1. Formulation of Quality and Reliability Targets for New Products, timely Product evaluations to assess gaps and driving corrective actions.
• 2. Generating Quality status to Senior Management by highlighting Quality Red alerts and proposing contingency plans.
• 3. Assessment on Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier and Service readiness based on MPDS gateway requirements.
• 4. Driving Teams towards implementation of various Product and Process improvements identified during build & Validation phases.
• 5. Preparing the Reliability Growth Analysis (RGA) reports based product validation concerns and establish the MTBF values against the targets.
• 6. Prepare and implement the Quality Evaluation plan in various builds.
• 7. Preparation of Product and Process Risk assessments and monitoring for effective closure.

B.E/ B Tech (Mechanical/Production/Automobile) Engg.

General Experience

07 – 09 Years - B.E/ B Tech (Mechanical/Production/Automobile) Engg.

• Auditing skills – Process, Product and System.
• Ability to identify the potential risks (Quality & Performance) and enable team to mitigate.
• In depth Knowledge of 7QC tools, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA & SPC.
• Excellent computer skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge in Reliability Tools and Analysis on vehicle & system level.
