Manager New Product Development (Internal JD, same style as the Agronomist doc)
Team Individual contributor with cross-functional influence over R&D, Regulatory, and Marketing
Atomgrid is building its new product pipeline in micronutrients and biostimulants. This role owns that pipeline end-to-end from opportunity identification through regulatory clearance to commercial launch — working at the intersection of R&D, regulatory affairs, and go-to-market.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic — Portfolio & Pipeline Ownership
- Build and prioritize the new product pipeline based on market gaps, competitor benchmarking, and farmer/dealer feedback from the field.
- Track FCO licensing pathways and CIB&RC approval trends (including combination-product filings) to identify white-space opportunities and de-risk launch timelines.
- Define product positioning and differentiation ahead of formal launch.
2. Operational — Product Development & Regulatory Coordination
- Brief internal R&D on formulation requirements based on market and regulatory intelligence.
- Own the regulatory filing roadmap for new SKUs — coordinate with regulatory consultants/CROs on FCO registration, CIB&RC approvals, and combination-product clearances.
- Convert field trial and bio-efficacy data into launch-ready technical dossiers and Package of Practices documentation.
Operational — Launch & Commercialization
- Build the go-to-market plan for each new product: pricing, packaging, channel sequencing, and launch collateral, in coordination with sales and marketing.
- Coordinate pilot launches with State Heads/RSMs and field teams; use early field feedback to refine positioning before full rollout.
Operational — Competitive & Market Intelligence
- Maintain structured competitor benchmarking (peer company filings, product registrations, pricing) to inform pipeline decisions.
- Report NPD pipeline status, regulatory bottlenecks, and competitive moves to leadership on a defined cadence.
People & Collaboration
- Act as the single point of coordination between R&D, regulatory, and commercial teams for every product from concept to launch.
- Work closely with distribution/dealer teams to ensure new products are launch-ready at the channel level.
Candidate Profile
- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Agriculture, Agronomy, or Chemistry; MBA preferred but not mandatory.
- 7–10 years in agri-inputs with direct exposure to new product development, regulatory affairs (FCO/CIB&RC), or category strategy.
- Strong grasp of Indian agrochemical regulatory processes and combination-product approval pathways.
- Proven ability to translate technical/regulatory detail into commercial launch plans.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally without direct reports — this is an influence-driven, ownership-heavy rol
