Job summary

Atomgrid is seeking a field agronomist to lead strategic field development, trials and farmer engagement across Karnataka.

You will validate formulations with R&D, supervise CRO programs, and translate trial data into practical guidelines and PoP. You’ll conduct demonstrations, provide in-field advisory, and support product launches with field teams.

Travel extensively, train farmers, and coordinate with field officers to ensure trials and market development stay on protocol.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Agriculture (Agronomy, Entomology or Plant Pathology preferred).
  • 3–5 years in agri-inputs — crop protection, crop nutrition or biostimulants — in a field development, technical or agronomy role.
  • Hands-on with field trials, demonstrations and farmer training; sound practical diagnosis of pest, disease and nutrient problems.
  • Working knowledge of Karnataka cropping systems (paddy, tomato, chilli, horticulture); disciplined with trial data and reporting.
  • Fluent in Kannada and English; own two-wheeler and valid licence; comfortable with extensive rural travel.

Responsibilities

  • Stay at the technical edge of agronomy and crop protection relevant to field development, and apply emerging knowledge to trial design and product positioning.
  • Field-validate new formulations developed by the internal R&D team ahead of launch, and run a structured feedback loop on efficacy, crop response and phytotoxicity back to R&D.
  • Supervise the CRO bio-efficacy programme (protocol compliance, site selection, data quality) without duplicating CRO-run studies; run dealer and key-farmer demo plots directly.
  • Own trial data: collect, validate and analyse it, and turn findings into field-ready recommendations and the modern Package of Practices (PoP).
  • Conduct demonstrations and village meetings that establish product performance and educate farmers.
  • Provide in-field crop advisory — diagnostic support for pest attacks, nutrient deficiencies and diseases at the farm.
  • Support new-product launches with Key Farmers, and equip the field sales team with product knowledge, technical bulletins and competitor differentiation.
  • Report field performance, competitor activity and pest dynamics back to R&D and marketing with structured, evidence-based feedback.
  • Coordinate with field officers (TSEs/TSMs) to keep trials, demos and market-development activities on protocol, and collaborate closely with R&D and CRO partners.
