Role & responsibilities
- Oversee and support the *manufacturing and production of agrochemical products*, ensuring consistent quality, yield, productivity and adherence to process parameters.
- Handle and supervise *batch manufacturing operations*, including reaction, filtration, drying, blending, milling/micronisation, packing and associated production activities.
- Possess strong practical knowledge of agrochemical plant equipment such as *glass-lined reactors (GLR), spray dryers, centrifuges, filter press/nutsche filters, dryers, pulverisers/micronisers, blenders, scrubbers, vacuum systems, pumps and material-transfer systems*.
- Participate in the *installation, commissioning, start-up and stabilisation of plant machinery and production lines* for the upcoming agrochemical unit.
- Review and optimise *manufacturing processes, batch cycles, yields, productivity and plant capacity utilisation*.
- Troubleshoot production, process and equipment-related issues and coordinate with *maintenance, engineering and utility teams* for timely resolution.
- Support *scale-up and commercialisation of agrochemical products* from laboratory/pilot stage to commercial production.
- Ensure manufacturing is carried out in accordance with approved *SOPs, specifications, safety requirements and quality standards*.
- Work closely with *Quality Control, Quality Assurance, R&D, Engineering, EHS, Purchase and Commercial teams* for smooth plant operations.
- Assist in evaluating *raw materials, intermediates, process requirements and manufacturing feasibility* for existing and new agrochemical products.
- Maintain and review production-related documentation including *batch records, process parameters, consumption norms, yields, deviations and production reports*.
- Identify opportunities for *process improvement, cost reduction, higher recovery/yield and reduction in production losses* without compromising product quality.
- Ensure safe handling of chemicals and compliance with applicable *EHS, pollution-control and statutory requirements* within the manufacturing facility.
- Train, guide and supervise production personnel and establish appropriate *operating practices and shop-floor discipline*.
- Coordinate production planning based on *customer requirements, inventory, raw-material availability and dispatch schedules*.
- Provide technical inputs for *product costing, manufacturing capability, capacity planning and customer/product evaluation*, wherever required.
- Contribute to the development of the agrochemical business by bringing strong knowledge of *agrochemical products, manufacturing processes, industry practices and market requirements*.
Preferred candidate profile
10+ years of direct experience in agrochemical manufacturing, with hands-on understanding of agrochemical products/formulations, manufacturing processes, plant machinery and commercialisation. The candidate should be capable of participating in product selection, process development/scale-up, plant commissioning and day-to-day manufacturing, while also understanding customers and the commercial agrochemical market.
