Qualifications

• BE Mechanical degree is required; MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop sourcing strategies for respective category group.
• Develop short-term/long-term Part Development Strategy including vendor pricing, contract terms, lead time and inventory considerations.
• Coordinate with R&D, Production, Marketing, Finance and Manufacturing Engineering for effective planning and development.
• Identify vendors, assess qualifications, and shortlist suitable partners.
• Issue RFQ/enquiries and evaluate offers with comprehensive comparisons.
• Develop sourcing and negotiation strategies for key spend areas and finalize pricing.
• Ensure commercial concurrence and set up agreements, PO issuance, sample approval and PPAP.

About the Role

JOB TITLE : Manager - Sourcing and Development DEPARTMENT : Sourcing and Development, EXPERIENCE : 15 to 18 Years

Responsibilities

• SCOPE AND MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop sourcing strategies for respective category group.
• Develop short-term/ long-term Part Development Strategy for categories including, Vendor Pricing / Cost, Contractual Relationships, Lead Time, Inventory Levels etc.
• Continuously explore alternative sources of Part development.
• Ensure strategic coordination with cross functional teams from R&D, Production, Marketing, Finance and Manufacturing Engineering functions to ensure effective planning and development.
• Monitor the following activities for the respective category of Part development.
• Vendor identification
• Vendor qualification assessment and short-listing
• Release of Request for Quotation/ Enquiry
• Receipt of offers from vendors and Preparation of comprehensive comparative statements.
• Develop sourcing and negotiation strategies for key spend areas.
• Monitor the process of Commercial Negotiation Meetings and finalization of the most optimal price with the vendors.
• Ensure obtaining of commercial concurrence.
• Ensure set-up of Agreements with the finalized vendors, and timely release of Purchase Order, Sample approval and PPAP Approval.
• Provide updates on lead times for Development to Senior Management.
• Evaluate vendor capabilities and establish sources for new technologies and markets as dictated by business requirements.
• Continuously evaluate vendor capacity, performance & take initiative for continuous improvement.
• Explore cost reduction ideas through VAVE , Strip Down analysis and Bench marking Focus on overall automation of development functionalities through best-in-class technology adoption through digitization
• Coordinate with internal/external auditors to resolve queries and review post audit observations; identify and monitor improvement initiatives.
• Develop an Annual Budget for the respective category under his/her control.
• Monitor actual spend vs. budget on a regular basis to capture variations.
• Capability of Team / People Handling.
• Drive Daily Work Management through Team.
