Job summary

Search Advisers Services Guj in Pune district, India, seeks an experienced Materials Manager to lead end-to-end material planning, procurement, inventory control, warehousing and logistics to ensure uninterrupted production.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in manufacturing supply chain, SAP/ERP expertise, and a track record of reducing costs and improving working capital. This is a full-time role requiring leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in materials management, supply chain, procurement or inventory in manufacturing/engineering.
• Strong expertise in material planning, MRP, forecasting and inventory optimization.
• Experience in supplier management, vendor development and negotiations.
• Proven ability to reduce costs and optimize working capital.
• Hands-on SAP/ERP experience in MM processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end materials management including planning, procurement, inventory control, warehousing and logistics.
• Ensure timely material availability to meet production schedules.

• Manage supplier relationships, negotiations and performance.
• Oversee MRP, demand forecasting, material scheduling and shortage management.

Role & responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end materials management, including material planning, procurement, inventory control, warehousing and logistics.
• Ensure timely material availability to meet production schedules and business requirements.
• Drive inventory optimization, working capital reduction and material cost efficiency.
• Manage supplier relationships, vendor development, negotiations and supplier performance.
• Oversee MRP, demand forecasting, material scheduling and shortage management.
• Coordinate with production, procurement, quality, finance and other cross-functional teams.
• Implement process improvements, cost-reduction initiatives and supply chain optimization strategies.
• Monitor key performance indicators related to inventory, material availability, supplier performance and on-time delivery.

Preferred candidate profile

• 15+ years of experience in Materials Management, Supply Chain, Procurement or Inventory Management within manufacturing or engineering industries.
• Strong expertise in material planning, MRP, demand forecasting, inventory optimization and production planning.
• Proven experience in supplier management, strategic sourcing, vendor development and commercial negotiations.
• Demonstrated ability to reduce material costs, optimize working capital and ensure uninterrupted material availability.
• Hands-on experience with SAP/ERP systems and materials management processes.
• Experience leading teams and managing cross-functional stakeholders in a manufacturing environment.
