• Strong exposure in Procurement, marketing, and logistics.

Responsibilities

• Develop market strategy and pricing for Coal Tar Pitch (CTP), naphthalene, carbon black oil and other distillates.
• Drive raw material procurement strategy for Coal Tar from established suppliers.
• Lead customer development (domestic & export) including offers, negotiations and growth planning.
• Oversee logistics & supply chain optimization to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.
• Conduct structured market intelligence and business development to identify new markets and opportunities.
• Coordinate cross-functional planning with Production, Procurement and Logistics to align with demand and profitability.
• Post-commissioning ownership: raw material sourcing, contracts, import/export operations, and EBITDA improvement.

Roles and Responsibilities

• 1. Market Strategy & Pricing
  • Business Development, Sales, Commercial activities and Develop pricing strategies related to Coal Tar Pitch (CTP), Naphthalene, Carbon Black Oil and other distillates.
  • Define and dynamically execute strategy between:
    • High-volume / low-marginandlow-volume / high marginmodels
    • Track global and domestic market trends (China, Middle East, India)
• 2. Raw Material Procurement Strategy
  • Drive raw material purchase activities for Coal Tar from established suppliers in a cost-effective manner.
  • Identify and evaluate sourcing options for Domestic (auction / contracts) and imports
• 3. Customer Development (Domestic & Export)
  • Submitting offers to customers and suppliers, negotiations with customers and suppliers to optimize the overall production and inventory cost.
  • Periodical visits to customers to assess their needs and develop future growth plans. Identify new customers and market segments (India + exports)
  • Coordination with Internal and External Customers. Develop understanding of market drivers, understand customer specifications, pricing sensitivity, demand patterns growth opportunities and competition activities.
• 4. Logistics & Supply Chain Optimization
  • Oversee logistical arrangements to ensure delivery on time to customers and procurement of raw materials for just in time production planning.
  • Develop efficient logistics strategies for: Coal tar sourcing & Finished product distribution
  • Evaluate road, rail, coastal, and vessel economics.
  • Optimize delivered cost and supply chain reliability.
• 5. Market Intelligence & Business Development
  • Conduct structured market research for:
    • New plant development (raw materials, customers, logistics)
  • Track supply-demand dynamics, price movements and capacity expansions.
  • Build strong industry relationships through regular customer & supplier engagement.
• 6. Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Collaborate to build proper production planning frame work and analytics.
  • Work closely with:
    • Production Planning (blend cost optimization)
    • Procurement and logistics teams
  • Align production plans with market demand and profitability
• 7. Post-Commissioning Ownership
  • Oversee:
    • Raw material sourcing
    • Customer contracts (domestic & export)
    • Import/export operations
  • Drive EBITDA improvement through:
    • Procurement timing and sales mix optimization
  • MIS for Sales/Customer visits/Customer information data/ Market Intelligence/sample tracking.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/ Mechanical / Metallurgical Engineering (mandatory) + MBA in Marketing (Preferred).

Overall experience

8–15 years of relevant experience in carbon / coal tar / petrochemical industries.

Strong exposure in Procurement, marketing, and logistics.
