Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager Logistics Operations based in India.

This is a senior logistics leadership role responsible for end-to-end warehousing and secondary transportation operations across a multi-state network in South India. You will oversee the flow of products from warehouses and distribution centers through transportation to distributors and customers. The role combines operational leadership with ownership of logistics cost, service levels, capacity, productivity, and network performance. You will manage relationships with warehouses, transporters, and third-party logistics providers while partnering closely with internal commercial and supply chain teams. A major focus will be identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through network optimization, technology, automation, and continuous improvement. This is an influential role for a logistics leader who enjoys solving complex operational challenges at scale while balancing customer service and cost efficiency.

  • Lead end-to-end warehousing and secondary transportation operations across an assigned multi-state geography covering approximately 5-6 states.

  • Manage warehouse and CFA operations, ensuring efficient storage, product movement, capacity utilization, throughput, manpower deployment, and operational productivity.

  • Support the identification, evaluation, and setup of warehouses and CFAs based on business volumes, network requirements, service expectations, and cost considerations.

  • Partner with CFA and 3PL providers to improve daily operational performance, productivity, service quality, and cost efficiency.

  • Ensure appropriate inventory handling, warehouse hygiene, GMP, product safety, and applicable operational standards.

  • Maintain operational readiness for internal, statutory, quality, and global audits while ensuring compliance with relevant licenses and regulatory requirements, including FSSAI.

  • Manage secondary transportation from depots and warehouses to distributors and customers, overseeing a regional fleet of approximately 200 vehicles.

  • Plan transportation capacity based on business volumes, demand patterns, and service requirements, ensuring adequate fleet availability.

  • Manage multiple transporters and logistics partners while monitoring vehicle utilization, turnaround times, transporter performance, and overall fleet efficiency.

  • Optimize routes, loads, and fleet deployment to improve productivity and control transportation and freight costs.

  • Resolve day-to-day transportation disruptions and operational challenges while protecting customer service continuity.

  • Own key logistics costs across warehousing and transportation, including warehouse rentals, CFA costs, manpower, freight, and transporter payments.

  • Analyze logistics costs and operational KPIs to identify cost leakages, productivity opportunities, and improvement initiatives.

  • Lead and support logistics projects involving network changes, new warehouse or CFA setups, transportation initiatives, and operational transitions.

  • Drive continuous improvement through process redesign, automation, digital tools, data-driven decision-making, and new operating models.

  • Evaluate emerging logistics technologies and practices and assess their potential application across branch operations.

  • Manage relationships with CFAs, transporters, 3PL providers, and other logistics service partners, including partner evaluation, onboarding, and transition.

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, Procurement, Quality, and other stakeholders to resolve operational challenges and deliver business objectives.

Requirements
  • Strong professional experience in logistics, warehousing, transportation, supply chain, or related operations, with demonstrated responsibility for large-scale regional logistics networks.

  • Proven experience managing both warehousing and secondary transportation operations, ideally across multiple states or a geographically distributed network.

  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, CFA management, inventory handling, capacity planning, transportation planning, fleet management, and 3PL operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage significant logistics costs and identify opportunities to improve productivity, utilization, service levels, and overall logistics economics.

  • Experience managing multiple external logistics partners, including warehouses, transporters, CFAs, and 3PL providers.

  • Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to interpret operational KPIs, logistics costs, service metrics, and network data to drive decisions.

  • Experience leading logistics projects, network changes, warehouse setups, operational transitions, or continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Familiarity with logistics automation, digital tools, data-driven operations, and emerging supply chain technologies.

  • Strong knowledge of applicable warehouse, product safety, regulatory, licensing, and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across commercial, supply chain, finance, procurement, quality, and customer-facing teams.

  • Strong leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

  • Ability to balance competing priorities involving customer service, operational capacity, cost, risk, and business continuity.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, complex operational environment and responding effectively to disruptions and unexpected logistics challenges.

  • Willingness to travel as required across the assigned multi-state network.

Benefits
  • Full-time opportunity based in India with a leadership role spanning a significant regional logistics network.

  • Opportunity to manage large-scale warehousing and transportation operations and influence logistics strategy and performance.

  • High level of ownership across service, capacity, cost, productivity, and operational improvement.

  • Exposure to major logistics transformation, network optimization, automation, and digital initiatives.

  • Cross-functional collaboration with Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Procurement, Quality, and other business teams.
