Job Role:
Manage inbound & outbound logistics through different mode of transport (air, sea, road) and end to end to supply chain
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify your supply chain's critical vulnerabilities and prioritize risks that necessitate alternative forwarders/CHA/transporters/Shipping line options.
- Explore forwarders in different geographical locations and with varying specializations to reduce reliance on a single provider.
- Consider partnering with a mix of forwarders who offer diverse services, expertise in different regions, or specialize in specific transportation modes.
- Prioritize forwarders who invest in technology for real‑time tracking, data analytics, and digital platforms to enhance visibility and collaboration.
- Cultivate transparent communication with your forwarders/transporters and establish clear expectations.
- Establish clear protocols for activating alternative forwarders/transporters/CHA, including assigning roles, defining procedures, and ensuring clear communication during disruptions.
- Conduct simulations and drills to evaluate the effectiveness of your backup plans and make necessary adjustments based on evolving risks and industry trends.
Export/Import Logistics (Sea, Road, Rail)
- Facilitate customs clearance for Export/Import (CHA), liaise with DGFT, and ensure compliance with export regulations and licenses.
- 200-300 containers Export/Import Current Capacity
- Engaging the domestic transport partners
- Timely delivery of material to all the customers
- Plan and coordinate shipments, ensuring accurate staging and meeting strict deadlines for document submission, advance licences, and compliances.
- Engaging, on‑boarding & negotiation of the forwarding/trailer cost, liaise with the shipping line
- Managing & Domestic/international locations the entire warehouse operations for Domestic/international locations
- Responsible for US & India Warehouse management – ship the goods out of Warehouse post invoice and work with the local transporters for delivery to customers
Budget, MIS & Team Management
- Streamline the entire logistics team
- Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain.
- Preparing weekly/monthly MIS
- Preparing the logistics budget
- Cost reduction through development of alternate forwarders/CHA/Shipping line
- Continuous improvement of entire logistics operation – manage internal and external stakeholders like manufacturing team, customers, sales team, DGFT, Customs, etc.
Education Qualifications, Experience, / Skills:
- Bachelor Degree or higher with 10+ years of relevant industry experience in logistics operations
- 8+ years of shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory management, and import/export operations experience
Experience processing shipments using international Freight forwarders and CHA
- Prior global shipping management / customs clearance experience is mandatory
- In depth knowledge on Indian customs requirement
- Strong negotiation, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of customs regulations, international trade laws, and shipping documentation.
