Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited [Automotive and Farm Equipment Business] is seeking an experienced engineer to lead feasibility studies and 3D CAD modelling for lighting parts. You will work closely with Development Teams, Suppliers and Toolmakers to ensure robust packaging and manufacturability.

The role requires a BE in Mechanical and about 10–11 years of automotive styling/lighting experience, with a strong capability in CAE/DMU processes and cross-functional collaboration.

• Experience with 3D CAD modelling and packaging of components

Responsibilities

• Feasibility studies for Lighting data from CAS-0 to Class-A, including tooling direction and quality checks
• 3D CAD modelling of engineering surfaces and packaging for E&E, BIW & GSM components
• Collaborate with development teams, suppliers and toolmakers for manufacturing feasibility and packaging
• Incorporate DFM/DFS/DFA, CAE, DMU feedback into design
• Benchmark competition vehicles for packaging, performance, and assembly
• Prepare SOR/Technical Requirement Documents for Lighting parts
• Drive optical performance via simulation and prototype testing
• Work in a cross-functional team environment

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

• Experience in feasibility studies of styling data CAS-0 to Class-A for Lighting - Headlamp, Taillamp (tooling direction, draft analysis, Homologation checks, Surface quality etc.)
• Master Section Development, 3D CAD modelling of Engineering surfaces and considering other vehicle parts packaging like E&E , BIW & GSM parts etc.
• Interaction with Development Team / Suppliers / Tool makers for Mfg. Feasibility ,packaging / tooling feasibility study.
• Incorporation of Changes suggested in DFM/DFS/DFA, CAE, DMU feedback, Service & Mold flow simulation etc. into engineering design.
• Benchmarking study for competition vehicles and systems for packaging, performance, assembly etc. at vehicle level and tear down level.
• Preparation of SOR/Technical Requirement Document for Lighting parts
• Drive optical performance improvement through simulation, prototype testing and design optimization
• Work effectively in a team environment with a cross-functional team
