Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and negotiate transitional documents such as term sheets, lease deeds, NDAs, MOUs, and SaaS agreements.
  • Provide end-to-end support for opening and completing new ventures with necessary licenses and approvals.
  • Collaborate with authorities to secure licenses such as FSSAI, Shop & Establishment, Fire NOC, and other licenses.
  • Ensure compliance with legal provisions by coordinating with authorities and consultants.
  • Advise on contracts and assess legal risks, developing mitigation strategies for future contracts.
  • Address stakeholder issues with practical, timely solutions.
  • Manage disputes and litigation with third parties, involving advocates and law firms.
  • Draft pleadings, notices, petitions and appeals; brief counsels as required.
  • Oversee documentation and maintenance of records and related ancillary tasks.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Undertake drafting, review and negotiation of various transitional documents, including term sheets, lease deeds, leave & license agreements, service consultancy agreements, NDAs, MOUs, and SaaS agreements.
  • Provide comprehensive end-to-end support to teams for opening and completion of new business ventures, ensuring the acquisition of necessary licenses, sanctions and approval required to operate retail business in India.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to secure licenses, including FSSAI, Shop & Establishment, Fire Compliance/NOC and other business licenses.
  • Ensure strict and continual compliance with legal provisions and regulations by closely coordinating with local authorities and consultancy firms.
  • Provide advice on contracts, analysing prevailing legal risks and liabilities associated with existing contracts. Develop and implement effective mitigation strategies for future contracts.
  • Understand and address issues raised by internal stakeholders, offering practical solutions within stringent timelines.
  • Manage disputes and litigation with third parties, collaborating with advocates, senior advocates, law firms, and government agencies.
  • Strategize and respond to legal notices, draft pleadings, petitions, and appeals. Brief counsels as required.
  • Oversee documentation and maintain records diligently. Handle associated ancillary work to support organizational processes.
  • Supervise the process of documentation and maintain records meticulously, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and accessibility, and handling any supplementary tasks that contribute to the smooth functioning of the organization.
Candidate Qualifications & Skill Requirements
  • LLB or equivalent law degree.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in legal and compliance roles, preferably in a corporate or law firm environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Due Diligence, Legal Writing, Legal Contract Review, and Legal Research.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Companies Act and other relevant corporate laws and regulations.
