Job description

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Manager IT Learning & Development to lead content development and program management for the SASTRA LMS platform.

The selected candidate will coordinate with technical trainers, subject-matter experts, course heads, instructional designers and internal teams to develop high-quality, industry-relevant IT learning programs.

The role combines Learning & Development expertise, project management, trainer coordination, content quality assurance and knowledge of the IT training ecosystem. The candidate will be responsible for taking courses from initial planning through content development, quality validation, LMS publishing, learner feedback and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
1. LMS Content Development
  • Manage the end-to-end development of IT courses for the SASTRA LMS platform.
  • Coordinate with trainers and subject-matter experts to prepare:
    • Recorded training videos
    • Presentations and learning materials
    • Assignments and hands-on projects
    • Assessments and quizzes
    • Interview preparation materials
    • Case studies and practical exercises
    • Course completion criteria
  • Ensure all learning content follows approved SASTRA LMS structures, templates and quality standards.
  • Track content-development progress and ensure completion within agreed timelines.
2. Trainer and SME Coordination
  • Work closely with technical trainers, course heads, interview panel members and working professionals.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups and review meetings with trainers.
  • Explain content-development standards, recording guidelines, course structures and expected deliverables.
  • Support trainers in converting technical knowledge into structured and engaging LMS content.
  • Identify content gaps and coordinate required corrections or additions.
  • Maintain productive long-term relationships with trainers and external subject-matter experts.
3. Content Quality Assurance
  • Review training videos, presentations, assignments, assessments and supporting materials before publication.
  • Verify:
    • Content structure and learning flow
    • Audio and video presentation
    • Trainer communication and delivery
    • Technical accuracy
    • Practical relevance
    • Learner engagement
    • Assignment and assessment standards
    • Branding and formatting
  • Coordinate technical validation with appropriate subject-matter experts where required.
  • Provide clear and constructive feedback to trainers.
  • Ensure corrections are completed before content is approved and published.
4. New Course Introduction
  • Research emerging technologies, industry requirements, hiring trends and learner demand.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce new IT and professional-development programs.
  • Connect with suitable trainers and industry professionals for new courses.
  • Conduct initial discussions covering:
    • Course objectives
    • Target audience
    • Curriculum and syllabus
    • Training duration
    • Practical projects
    • Assessment structure
    • Content-development timelines
    • Trainer engagement model
  • Prepare course proposals and present recommendations to management.
  • Coordinate the complete course-launch process from trainer onboarding to LMS publication.
5. Curriculum and Learning Design
  • Convert technical subjects into structured, outcome-based learning journeys.
  • Define learning objectives, modules, milestones, projects and evaluation methods.
  • Ensure programs include practical, job-relevant and application-oriented learning.
  • Design different learning paths for:
    • Fresh graduates
    • Experienced professionals
    • Corporate learners
  • Introduce engaging learning formats such as quizzes, activities, live sessions, workshops, projects and cohort-based programs.
6. LMS Platform Coordination
  • Coordinate with the LMS technology team for content uploads, course configuration, user access, testing and publishing.
  • Verify that videos, assessments, assignments, certificates and learner progress tracking function correctly.
  • Report platform issues and coordinate their resolution.
  • Recommend enhancements to improve trainer and learner experience.
  • Support dashboards and reports for content progress, course completion, assessments and learner engagement.
7. Program Monitoring and Improvement
  • Monitor learner participation, course completion, assessment performance, feedback and satisfaction.
  • Collect feedback from students, trainers, course heads, placement teams and employers.
  • Analyse course performance and recommend improvements.
  • Periodically update courses based on technology changes and industry requirements.
  • Identify low-performing modules and coordinate content revisions.Maintain version control and periodic review schedules for published courses.
8. Team and Stakeholder Management
  • Coordinate across Course Heads, Trainers, LMS Technology, Operations, Placement, Sales, Digital Marketing and Management teams.
  • Lead or support a team of content coordinators, instructional designers, video editors and quality analysts as the division grows.
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports.
  • Escalate content delays, trainer availability concerns and quality issues to management.
  • Maintain proper documentation for trainers, courses, approvals, revisions and published content.

Required Qualifications

  • 4 to 10 years of experience in Learning & Development, EdTech, LMS content development, technical training, program management or instructional design.
  • Experience coordinating with technical trainers and subject-matter experts.
  • Strong understanding of course design, curriculum development, assessments and learner engagement.
  • Experience managing multiple courses or content-development projects simultaneously.Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good stakeholder-management, follow-up, documentation and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to critically review content and provide structured feedback.
  • Working knowledge of LMS platforms, digital learning tools, video-based learning and content-management processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with an EdTech company, IT training institute, corporate L&D team, university or professional-learning platform.
  • Familiarity with software technologies and current IT employment trends.
  • Experience with instructional design models and outcome-based learning.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted content creation, prompt engineering or learning automation.
  • Experience designing cohort-based, project-based or experiential learning programs.
  • Knowledge of video recording, editing standards, SCORM, assessments, learner analytics or LMS reporting.
  • Experience launching new courses in collaboration with external trainers or consultants.
