Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in India seeks a Manufacturing Process Improvement engineer to analyze processes, optimize workflows, and drive continuous improvement across operations.

You will conduct time and motion studies, balance lines, design plant layouts, and implement Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping to reduce waste, downtime, and costs, while safeguarding safety and quality. Collaboration with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain and Engineering is essential.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Conduct time studies, motion studies, work measurement, and capacity analysis to establish optimal manufacturing methods.
• Develop and improve plant layouts, material flow, line balancing, and workstation design for maximum efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping methodologies.
• Monitor and reduce manufacturing waste, cycle time, downtime, and overall production costs.
• Support new product introduction by developing efficient production processes and standard operating procedures.
• Evaluate equipment utilization and recommend automation or process improvements where appropriate.
• Prepare productivity reports, KPIs, and performance dashboards for management review.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to resolve operational issues.
• Participate in CAPEX and process improvement projects, including feasibility studies and implementation support.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards in all process improvement activities.
• Train and guide shop-floor personnel on standardized work methods and continuous improvement practices.
