Responsibilities

  • Lead business development activities: market research, client targeting, proposal development, RFP responses, and contract negotiations.
  • Guide human capital development: recruit, mentor and coach junior staff, and deliver training programs to enhance capabilities.
  • Oversee project execution: manage consulting engagements from initiation to completion, ensure high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.
  • Analyze client issues, market trends, and competitive dynamics to develop actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement strategic initiatives and improve operations.
  • Present findings to clients with data-driven, clear communication and contribute to MSC publications.

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of relevant experience in management consulting/ banking/MFIs/NBFCs/Fintechs space. The Manager will be responsible for contributing to the achievement of institutional objectives by delivering exemplary services to clients by responding to the needs of specific projects and situations. He/she will lead tasks or work streams within an assignment typically focussed on technical support to clients across various domains. They will also provide ongoing support and guidance to staff within their area of responsibility to ensure that they deliver their roles to an appropriate level of quality and according to the approaches and frameworks set out by MSC.

Managers will continue to build their knowledge and expertise in core areas of MSC’s client delivery work and may start to specialize in the work of a particular practice or domain.

Requirements
  • 8-10years of experience in management consulting, banking, MFIs/ NBFCs,FinTechs, corporate strategy, or a related field with a strongunderstanding of the payments system in India (other countries is agood to have) with a proven track record of success.
  • Stronganalytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information anddraw actionable conclusions.

Business Development:
  • Conduct market research andanalysis to identify potential clients, industry trends, and competitivelandscapes.
  • Comprehensive understandingof the international donor space.
  • Develop comprehensivebusiness development strategies and action plans to expand the firm's clientbase and market presence.
  • Cultivate and maintainrelationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders through effectivenetworking and engagement activities.
  • Collaborate with seniorleadership to pitch and write proposals, respond to RFPs (Request forProposals), and negotiate contracts with clients.
  • Track and evaluate thesuccess of business development efforts, and make recommendations forimprovement.
  • Promote thought leadershipby representing MSC at conferences, workshops, and other public events.
  • Author/Co-author thematicpublications (Focus notes/Briefing notes)
  • Actively engage in socialmedia promotions and marketing.
Human Capital Development:
  • Lead talent acquisitionefforts by participating in recruitment processes, interviewing candidates, andmaking hiring recommendations.
  • Invest in self-developmentby acquiring skills and knowledge which contribute to the organization’sbusiness
  • Mentor and coach juniorteam members, and guide them on project management, analytical techniques, andclient interaction skills.
  • Develop and delivertraining programs and workshops to enhance the professional development of teammembers.
  • Foster a culture ofcontinuous learning and knowledge sharing within the organization.
Business Execution:
  • Manage and overseeconsulting projects from initiation to completion, ensuring high-qualitydeliverables and client satisfaction.
  • In-depth understanding ofthe payments space (AePS, UPI, Bharat Connect etc.)
  • Conduct in-depth analysisof client issues, industry trends, and competitive dynamics to developactionable insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate withcross-functional teams at MSC to develop and implement strategic initiativesand operational improvements.
  • Monitor project timelines,budgets, and resource allocations to ensure adherence to project goals andobjectives.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients in a clear, concise, and compelling manner,leveraging data-driven insights and persuasive communication skills.
  • Reviewtraining courses, research and other publications, and technical assistanceprovided to clients
  • Contributeto the development of MSC’s toolkits and other publications
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree inbusiness, finance, economics, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA orequivalent) is preferred.
