The role requires vast experience in glass production, strong leadership, and the ability to plan, execute, and continuously improve processes while optimizing costs.

Competenze

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical or Production required.
• 12–18 years of experience in a glass manufacturing environment preferred.
• Green belt Six Sigma certification would be an advantage.

Educational Qualification and Experience

• B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical or Electrical or Production.
• 12 - 18 Years of experience in a glass manufacturing company - preferably Borosilicate Glass
• Green belt six sigma certification would be added advantage.

Location: Valsad

Role

• The person will be responsible for leading and managing production operations of Hot forming, at the Umarsadi site, ensuring compliance with global quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• This role involves driving operational excellence, optimizing manufacturing processes, and delivering high-quality pharmaceutical glass packaging products.
• This role will play a key leadership role in planning, execution, and continuous improvement initiatives while fostering a culture of safety, quality, and performance across the production team.

Main Tasks:

Production & Process Management

• Oversee end to end production processes and maintenance of all syringes hot forming.
• Ensure daily production targets, timelines, and quality standards are consistently achieved.
• Plan and execute monthly production schedules, yield improvement activities, machine maintenance, modifications, shutdown jobs, and material planning.
• Coordinate with Production Planning and related departments (Engineering, Quality, SCM, Utility, Stores, HR) for smooth operations.

Performance & Operational Excellence

• Track and improve key metrics such as OEE, Line downtime, Changeover time.
• Lead continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives to enhance plant performance and reduce waste.

Continuous Improvement & Projects

• Lead improvement projects, cost analysis, and implement Lean/TPM/Six Sigma initiatives.
• Identify bottlenecks and enhance productivity, equipment maintenance, and process flows.

Maintenance & Downtime Control

• Coordinate with the Engineering team to ensure preventive maintenance schedules are executed.
• Minimize unplanned downtime and ensure smooth production continuity.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure adherence to GMP and all applicable guidelines, and internal SOPs.
• Drive CAPA, root-cause analysis, and maintain documentation control (BMRs, BPRs).
• Lead internal and external audits (customer, regulatory, etc.) and ensure audit readiness.

Financial Management

• Prepare and manage departmental OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
• Monitor expenses and optimize cost efficiency.

Reporting & Analytics

• Analyze Daily Production Reports (DPRs) and KPIs.
• Prepare and present monthly MIS reports with actionable insights for senior management.
• Monitor operational trends and recommend improvements.

Shop Floor Management

• Ensure adherence to 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) standards.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, discipline, and workplace organization.

Safety & EHS

• Promote health, safety, and environment programs across work areas.
• Ensure staff are trained in safe practices and procedures.

People Management

• Manage manpower planning and resource allocation.
• Oversee training and development of team members.

Audit & Customer Focus

• Lead and actively participate in customer audits related to the syringe hot forming process.
• Ensure audit readiness and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Ensure product quality meets customer requirements.
• Attend customer visits and address technical queries.

Technical Skills Required

• Glass Technology, Process, Production and Operations, TPM, Manpower Management, Packaging.
