Job summary

Kirloskar Brothers Limited in Sangli, Maharashtra seeks a Manager who acts as a hands-on technical problem solver and methoding/process-control owner while developing the capability of the junior engineering team.

The role involves designing and improving methoding for new products, standardizing processes, monitoring yields, reducing rework, and coordinating with the pattern shop. A DMD/BE in Mechanical or Metallurgy is preferred, with exposure to MAGMASOFT and 3D CAD tools.

Qualifications

• DMD or BE in Mechanical or Metallurgy required.
• Experience with carbon steel and stainless steel castings.
• Knowledge of austenitic, ferritic and martensitic stainless steels.
• Experience with 2-Part No-Bake / Alphaset sand process.
• Hands-on exposure to Replicast process is preferred.
• Casting methoding, gating and risering knowledge.
• Experience with casting simulation tools (MAGMASOFT).
• ProE/Creo or CATIA for 3D CAD modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve methoding of new products through simulation software.
• Standardize methoding, prepare method cards for MOCs and Replicast process.
• Monitor and control the process to achieve targets for rejection and rework.
• Improve manufacturing cost by enhancing gross yield.
• Plan daily visits to the machine shop to study casting rework and rejection.
• Present quality improvements on rejection, rework and yield.
• Standardize, review and control process parameters.
• Review and design methoding of new products.
• Coordinate with pattern shop for new pattern design and manufacturing.
• Suggest product design changes to improve casting quality.
• Create 3D methoding for tooling manufacturing or 3D printing.

Role:

Responsibilities :

• To design and improve methoding of new products through simulation software
• To standardize methoding and processes and prepare method cards for Stainless Steel MOCs for Alphaset No Bake sand system and Replicast process.
• To Monitor and Control the process to achieve rejection and rework as per business targets
• To optimize cost of manufacturing through improvement in gross yield
• To plan daily visits to machine shop to understand and improve casting rework and rejection
• To plan and present Quality Improvements on Rejection, Rework and Yield Improvement
• To standardize, review and control the process parameters
• To review and design methoding of new products
• To co-ordinate and support to pattern shop in new pattern designing and manufacturing
• To review and suggest product design changes suitable to improve casting quality
• To able to make 3D methoding to incorporate the same in tooling manufacturing or 3D printing
