Job summary

Trehan IRIS is seeking an experienced Security Manager to oversee the mall’s security operations, fire and life-safety systems and risk management. The role focuses on protecting customers, tenants, employees and assets while ensuring statutory and client-standard compliance.

Responsibilities include supervising security agencies, managing shifts, monitoring CCTV and access control, and coordinating with police and fire authorities.

Qualifications

• Graduate / Diploma / Degree in Security, Fire & Safety or relevant discipline.
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience preferably with Mall/Retail/Hospitality/Commercial facilities.
• Strong experience in managing security agencies and large teams.
• Hands-on knowledge of fire & life-safety systems, CCTV, access control and emergency response.
• Knowledge of Fire NOC, statutory compliance, safety audits and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in mock drills, emergency preparedness and incident investigations.
• Strong experience in tenant, contractor and vendor management.

Job description

To manage and ensure the overall security, fire & life safety, emergency preparedness and risk management of the mall. The role will be responsible for protecting customers, tenants, employees, assets and infrastructure while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, fire safety norms, mall SOPs and client standards.

Job Descriptions:

• Manage overall security operations of the mall, including entry/exit gates, parking, loading/unloading, BOH, service and common areas.
• Supervise security agencies, manpower deployment, shift rosters and daily operations.
• Ensure effective access control, frisking, baggage/vehicle checks and material movement.
• Monitor CCTV, access control and security control room operations and ensure system uptime.
• Identify and address security risks, theft, unauthorized access, vandalism and suspicious activities.
• Develop and implement security SOPs, post orders and emergency response procedures.
• Ensure readiness and effective functioning of all fire & life-safety systems, including fire alarm, hydrant, sprinkler, pumps, extinguishers, fire exits, emergency lighting and evacuation systems.
• Conduct regular fire, safety and security inspections and ensure timely closure of observations and system defects.
• Prepare and conduct mock drills for fire, evacuation, bomb threats, medical emergencies, civil disturbances and other emergencies.
• Lead emergency response and coordinate with police, fire department, civil defence and other statutory authorities.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, Fire NOC conditions, licenses, inspections and audits.
• Manage tenant and contractor compliance with security, fire safety and work permit requirements.
• Monitor high-risk activities such as hot work, work-at-height and contractor movement.
• Lead and train Security Officers, Supervisors, Guards, Fire Officers, Firemen and Control Room personnel.
• Conduct regular briefings, toolbox talks, patrols and surprise checks to maintain discipline and operational readiness.
• Investigate security/fire incidents, accidents, thefts and property damage and prepare RCA and corrective action reports.
• Maintain incident records, statutory documents, inspection reports, registers and security/fire MIS.
• Manage VIP visits, mall events, launches and other special security arrangements.
• Implement effective traffic management plans and ensure smooth vehicle and pedestrian movement within the mall.
• Monitor security and fire-related KPIs and drive continuous improvement in safety, security and customer experience.
• Ensure timely reporting and escalation of critical incidents to senior management.

Requirements:

• Graduate / Diploma / Degree in Security, Fire & Safety or relevant discipline.
• 5 to 10 Years of relevant experience preferably with Mall / Retail / Hospitality / Commercial / Large Facility Management .
• Strong experience in managing security agencies and large security/fire safety teams.
• Hands-on knowledge of fire & life-safety systems, CCTV, access control and emergency response.
• Good understanding of Fire NOC, statutory compliance, safety audits and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in conducting mock drills, emergency preparedness and incident investigations.
• Strong experience in tenant, contractor and vendor management.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with Police, Fire Department, Civil Defence and other authorities.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and crisis-management skills.
• Experience in traffic management and crowd control in high-footfall environments.
• Should be comfortable working in shifts, weekends and during emergencies/events.
• Strong documentation, reporting and MIS skills.
