Job summary

Godrej Properties is seeking a qualified finance professional to lead financial management, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting in accordance with IGAAP and IND AS. The role emphasizes accurate statements, balance sheets, and P&L management.

Key duties include overseeing day-to-day accounting, tax compliance (TDS, GST), budgeting, variance analysis, MIS reporting, vendor/ customer management, and internal controls. CA with 4–6 years in real estate is preferred.

Qualifications

• CA with Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4–6 years of accounting/finance experience, real estate preferred.
• Strong knowledge of tax laws, compliance, and statutory requirements.
• Proficiency in SAP and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial management including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting per IGAAP & IND AS.
• Manage day-to-day accounting: AP/AR, bank transactions, and records.
• Ensure tax compliance: TDS, GST, and related filings; coordinate with tax consultants.
• Prepare annual budgets and forecasts; monitor variances.
• Conduct financial analysis and present MIS reports.
• Coordinate with internal/external auditors; strengthen internal controls.
• Prepare MIS reports: cash flow, aging reports.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. Financial Management:

• Oversee all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting as per IGAAP & IND AS.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.

2. Accounting Operations:

• Manage day-to-day accounting functions such as bank transactions, Accounts payable, Accounts Receivable.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. 3. Taxation and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, including preparing and filing returns for TDS, GST, and other applicable taxes.
• Coordinate with tax consultants for resolving taxation-related queries and issues.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with other departments.
• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis and recommendations for improvement.

4. Financial Analysis:

• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for management review.

5. Vendor and Customer Management:

• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments to vendors and collections from customers.
• Perform vendor and customer reconciliations and manage aging reports.

6. Internal Controls and Audits:

• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance.

7. MIS Reporting:

• Prepare and present management information system (MIS) reports, including cash flow statements, customer aging reports, and vendor aging reports.
  

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably in the real estate industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software i.e. SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• CA with Bachelors / Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
