Job summary

Vodafone Idea Limited, a leading telecom provider, seeks a Manager – Transport Engineer to drive transport network operations and service quality across Core and Agg locations.

Based in Hyderabad, you will lead cross-functional efforts with OEMs and internal teams to ensure uptime, preventive maintenance, and KPI attainment. Strong multi-vendor experience is essential, along with a BE/B.Tech and telecom certifications.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of transport network experience in a service provider/OEM environment.
• Technical expertise in IP-MPLS/DWDM, OTN, MPLS-TP, Ethernet, SDH, etc.
• Understanding of Mobility services such as 4G, VoLTE.
• Hands on experience with telecom testing tools.
• Experience in multi-vendor equipment management (Huawei/ECI/Ciena/ZTE/Infinera/Tejas/Cisco/Juniper/Nokia).
• Experience in equipment installation and infra maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver network and service KPIs for transport network and ensure service experience for mobility and enterprise customers.
• Collaborate with circle/central teams to meet uptime and KPI targets.
• Oversee disaster recovery operations and situation-specific solutions to improve voice/data service experience.
• Manage asset and spare parts, preventive maintenance, and MTTR reduction.
• Coordinate with OEMs, transport, Infra, OSP, and NOC teams to optimize network performance.

Job Purpose

• Responsible for Transport network ( Optics/DWDM/IP-MPLS etc) operations and the service experience especially in Core & Agg locations


• Transport network acceptance with architecture compliance, quality of installation. Clearance of systemic deviations.


• Proactive plan to mitigate network risks due to environment or other factors

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

• Accountable to deliver the Network and service KPIs for transport network. Deliver service experience to Mobility and enterprise customers.


• Work closely with other functions in the circle and central to meet uptime, fault KPI, performance KPI and Change management KPI.


• Disaster recovery operations and situation specific solutions to improve experience for Voice and Data services


• Asset Management and spare management


• Responsible for preventive maintenance of transport network to reduce outages, alarms , performance issues and equipment damage


• Deliver the NOC demands, WFM compliance


• Maintain NDD and physical connectivity details


• Work with OEMs, transport, Infra ,OSP teams & NOC to reduce MTTR.


• Deliver quality of the network through optimization, rerouting,

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience

• 8-10 Years of Transport network Experience in service provider/OEM environment
