Job Purpose
SNOC is a centralized technology operation centre responsible for FCAPS (Fault, Change, Accounting, Performance & Security) to serve pan‑India mobility and enterprise customers across all technologies and domains through start‑of‑art tools, digital initiatives, well‑stitched processes and skilled people. Service, Performance and OSS vertical is responsible for the upkeep of network & service performance. Transport performance vertical is responsible for end‑to‑end performance of IP CORE, IP access, DWDM, Optical access & microwave network elements.
Key Result Areas / Accountabilities
Transport Performance Analytics & KPI Modeling
- Design and govern KPI models across transport domains (IP, DWDM, Microwave, Optical), focusing on parameters that directly affect service experience.
- Define thresholds and baseline behaviours in collaboration with planning, operations, and service teams.
- Ensure KPI definitions and thresholds are integrated within performance tools and validated for accuracy and usability in live operations.
Performance Surveillance & Service Assurance
- Drive real‑time surveillance and service‑centric assurance across critical KPIs using state‑of‑the‑art tools and telemetry‑based systems.
- Correlate performance deviations with customer‑impacting events and initiate domain‑level or cross‑functional interventions.
- Embed automation and machine learning wherever feasible to pre‑emptively detect and resolve issues, reducing Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR).
Knowledge Management & Continuous Improvement
- Institutionalise a knowledge loop to ensure every performance issue contributes to a learning repository for faster future resolution.
- Promote a preventive operations culture by tracking RCA effectiveness and ensuring closure across all regions.
- Standardise learnings into SOPs and performance playbooks, ensuring national rollout and operational adherence.
Process Governance & Compliance
- Ensure complete adherence to SNOC's service processes under the ITIL framework, enabling predictable and high‑quality outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 20K, ISO 27K, TL 9000, SOX, and TRAI/DOT requirements.
- Drive process simplification and optimisation across performance operations while enabling service excellence through structured CSI (Continual Service Improvement).
People Leadership & Digital Culture
- Build and lead a high‑performing, analytics‑driven performance team with strong domain expertise.
- Foster a culture that blends technical depth, data‑led decision making, and a service‑first mindset.
- Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) standards and promote diversity, inclusion, and digital capabilities within the team.
Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience
- Overall 15‑20 years of experience in managing telecom networks and at least 5 years of managing IP performance (IP CORE, IP access, DWDM, Optical access, and microwave) across CISCO, JUNIPER, ECI, HUAWEI, ZTE, CIENA, INFINERA, NEC, ERICSSON OEMs.
- Knowledge of industry‑standard KPIs, adept at analysing information, system needs, evaluating service requirements, and analysing complex KPI degradation.
- Strong understanding & experience in managing performance KPIs, TATs for network quality, transport KPIs and corresponding impact on services.
Must Have Technical / Professional Qualifications
- Electronics/Telecommunication engineering graduate – Must.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and industry certificates – Must.
- IP routing, configurations, interface physical characteristics, node resource dimensioning, transmission protocols, DWDM and microwave link engineering – Must.
- Digital mindset – Preferred.
- Technology and service acumen – Must.
