Manager Events | Fundraising & Community Engagement
About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic, highly organised and hands‑on Manager Events to lead the planning, execution and growth of CanKids' fundraising and engagement events, including large-scale running and cycling events such as Tata Mumbai Marathon (TMM), Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon (VDHM), Cycle for Gold (CFG) and other strategic events.
Key Responsibilities
1. Event Planning & Execution
- Plan and execute fundraising and community engagement events from concept to closure.
- Develop detailed event plans, timelines, budgets, task trackers and execution calendars.
- Coordinate all pre-event, event-day and post-event activities.
- Ensure smooth on-ground execution, including registrations, participant experience, branding, logistics, volunteer coordination and event flow.
- Identify potential risks and proactively develop contingency plans.
- Travel and provide on-ground support during events across locations, as required.
2. Fundraising & Revenue Generation
- Develop and execute fundraising strategies linked to events.
- Set and monitor event-wise fundraising targets.
- Drive participant fundraising and supporter engagement.
- Identify opportunities for sponsorships, corporate partnerships, individual donors and in-kind support.
- Support preparation of sponsorship proposals, partnership decks and donor communication.
- Track fundraising performance and ensure targets are achieved.
3. Participant & Community Engagement
- Build and manage relationships with runners, cyclists, clubs, communities, corporates and other event stakeholders.
- Develop strategies to increase participation and engagement.
- Build and maintain relationships with running and cycling communities.
- Create participant engagement initiatives before, during and after events.
- Encourage participants to become long-term CanKids ambassadors and fundraisers.
4. Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Coordinate with event organisers, corporate partners, sponsors, vendors, agencies, volunteers and internal teams.
- Manage event-related vendors and service providers.
- Negotiate with vendors and ensure timely delivery against agreed requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams including Communications, Finance, Programs and Resource Mobilisation.
5. Campaign & Communications Support
- Work closely with Communications/Marketing teams on event campaigns.
- Support development of event communication calendars, emailers, social media campaigns and participant communication.
- Ensure CanKids' brand, mission and impact are effectively represented across events.
- Support creation of event collateral, presentations and fundraising toolkits.
6. Monitoring & Reporting
- Track event KPIs including registrations, participation, fundraising, sponsorships, engagement and expenditure.
- Maintain event databases, trackers and documentation.
- Prepare post-event reports, impact reports and management presentations.
- Capture learnings and develop recommendations for improving future editions.

- Strong MS Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours during major events.
- Passion for social impact and CanKids' mission.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in NGO fundraising, sports events, marathons, cycling events, experiential marketing, community engagement or CSR.
- Experience working with runners, cyclists, clubs, corporates or fundraising communities will be an advantage.
- Experience handling large-scale events such as marathons, sporting events or fundraising campaigns will be preferred.
