Qualifications

  • BE/BTech in Engineering with PG Diploma in Industrial Safety/Env from a recognized institution.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety standards at all locations align with global standards (GRMS) and SFIP.
  • Mature safety culture and conduct safety learning across locations.
  • Support EHS in Demand and Move teams including offices, depots, and external events; drive safety reviews and driving safety campaigns.
  • Lead IMS implementation (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, BSC Sword of Honor, Green Co).
  • Coordinate safety audits of operating plants, offices and depots; build EHS capability and engagement across TMU.

About This Role
Purpose of the role:

The objective of the role is to ensure that all USL Locations including Units, Offices, Depots Operating Safe and there is enhancement in maturity of EHS standards by working on following focus areas in North Region and covering EHS for TMU (Third‑party manufacturing, Depots/Warehouses, Offices, Driving safety & External Events. Role requires extensive Travelling and Stakeholder management and driving Corporate EHS Strategic Agenda in the Region. The role also requires close working to OMU - Own manufacturing Units. the Role will also lead and anchor some of the Corporate EHS Agenda and drive it in the region and across.

The Role Will Ensure
  • All locations safety standards are aligned to global Standards on EHS (GRMS) and SFIP Stds
  • There is maturity in culture of Safety learning and sensitivity in safety across Organization
  • Support EHS in Demand Team – including Offices/driving Safety. Ensure Incident reporting and Investigation and ensuring Sharing and learning.
  • Support EHS in Move team – including Depots/Logistics
  • Support Demand Team – for External Events Safety Reviews and support
  • Drive and Mature Driving Safety Programme (i-Drive Safe Programme)
  • Mature EHS Audit System. Follow audit plan and ensure and support closure and report the progress for the region.
  • Mature Engagement, communication and initiative drives are taken across all locations
  • Work on focus initiatives/projects in embedding use of Technology/Digitization in enhancing workplace Safety and monitoring
  • Project Safety Reviews
  • Drive and co‑ordinate in implementing IMS - ISO 45001, ISO 14001, BSC standards across locations.
  • 12 Improve EHS Standards in TMU Operations through maturing mechanism on Building Capability, Engagement & strong Governance. Work closely with TMU team and building capability of Safety resources etc.
  • Drive various engagement programs including National Safety month, Driving safety month, Fire Safety, Environment campaigns basis the engagement calendar

Qualification
Experience/skills required:
  • B.E./B. Tech/Equivalent in Engineering (with post graduate diploma in Industrial Safety/Env from a recognized institution)
Experience
  • 7-10 yrs. of post qualification experience in managerial capacity in a manufacturing Organization and having at least 2 years working experience in Corporate/regional set up would be added advantage
Knowledge & Skills
  • Good Communication and influencing Skills 'In-depth Knowledge of manufacturing, Offices, Warehouse, Road safety and its EHS implications
  • Knowledge of Workplace Safety Standard
  • Good understanding of EHS Audits/EHS Legal compliance
  • ISO 45001,14001, BSC (British Safety Council), DuPont Safety, Project Safety etc.

  • Focus & periodic review of EHS (GRMS- Global Risk Management System) and SFIP compliance across all Locations
  • Engage and mature understanding and maturity in GRMS/SFIP across all locations
  • Schedule and monitor review with all locations and build project pipeline for Capex to improve Compliance on the Same
  • Engage with Compliance team in these efforts
  • Develop mechanism to co-relate maturity of each site with respect to compliance and activity events at site. Do checks and balance ensuring Zero harm at workplace.

  • Improve Safety standards in TMU operations through maturing mechanism on Building Capability, Engagement & strong Governance.
  • Mature reporting governance on L&L indicators in TMU units
  • Build Capability of Safety resource at TMUs through Training
  • Region wise focus review of TMU in maturing Safety stand and report out EHS performance scorecardWork closely with TMU - Cluster Head/Compliance team - to have action plan to help improve EHS L1 Scores for Units
