Job summary

Re-Sustainability is seeking an EHS professional to ensure workplace safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement at the Bengaluru site. The role focuses on implementing ISO standards, conducting risk assessments, and driving safety training and incident investigations.

You will coordinate with operations and suppliers to maintain compliant EHS processes, manage audits, and promote a strong safety culture across all shifts.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/BE/BTech in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical/Environmental preferred).
  • NEBOSH/ADIS/Diploma in Industrial Safety (mandatory or preferred).
  • 2–6 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing/industrial setup.

Responsibilities

  • Environment, Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable acts and standards.
  • Implement and monitor ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 at site.
  • Conduct HIRA and JSA to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure safe work practices, SOPs, and work permits.
  • Monitor waste management, effluent treatment, and air/water quality.
  • Lead safety trainings, inductions, toolbox talks, and safety campaigns.
  • Coordinate with authorities for emergencies and audits.

Job description

To ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant working environment at the IWM site by implementing effective EHS systems, ensuring adherence to statutory and organizational safety standards, minimizing workplace risks, preventing accidents and environmental incidents, and promoting a strong safety culture through continuous monitoring, training, and improvement.

Skills Required

Strong knowledge of EHS compliance, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 implementation, HIRA/JSA, statutory safety regulations, site safety management, audits, training, and environmental monitoring in industrial or plant settings.

Qualification

Diploma / BE / BTech in Engineering (Mechanical / Chemical / Environmental preferred)

Key Responsibilities
  • Environment, Health & Safety Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Factories Act, EHS laws, State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) norms and other statutory requirements
  • Implement and monitor ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards at site
  • Maintain all EHS-related licenses, approvals, and renewals Safety Management
  • Conduct Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
  • Ensure implementation of safe work practices, SOPs, and work permits
  • Monitor contractor safety and ensure PPE compliance on shop floor
  • Investigate near misses, accidents, and incidents and implement corrective actions
    Training & Awareness
  • Conduct safety induction training for employees, contractors, and visitors
  • Organize regular toolbox talks, mock drills, and safety campaigns
  • Promote safety culture and behavioral safety practices
    Environmental Management
  • Monitor waste management, effluent treatment, air & water monitoring
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous & non-hazardous waste
  • Coordinate with authorized vendors for waste disposal
    Fire & Emergency Management
  • Ensure availability and maintenance of firefighting systems and equipment
  • Conduct emergency preparedness plans and mock drills
  • Coordinate with local authorities during emergencies
    Audits & Reporting
  • Conduct internal EHS audits and support external audits
  • Maintain EHS MIS reports, dashboards, and monthly compliance status
  • Close audit observations within defined timelines
