Job summary

Welmade Locking Systems Pvt Ltd in Maharashtra, Pune District, seeks a seasoned Lead Tool Design professional to drive end-to-end die-casting tooling from concept through production release. You will spearhead HPDC tool development for Aluminium and Zinc, coordinate cross-functional teams, and uphold stringent quality and customer requirements.

Ideal candidates bring 12–15 years in tool design, strong CAD and mould flow skills, and a track record of leading design reviews and process

Qualifications

• Education: NTTF/GTTC / B.E. / B. Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Tool Engineering (M. Tech preferred).
• 12-15 years in die-casting tool design (HPDC preferred) with complete tool development from concept to production.
• Strong knowledge of HPDC/LPDC/GDC die design, DFM, GD&T, CAD tools, and mould flow simulation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Tool Design function for die-casting tools, ensuring timely and cost-effective project execution.
• Drive complete tool development from concept design to production release for Aluminium and Zinc die-casting components.
• Review and approve tool designs, DFM studies, mould flow analysis, and engineering changes.
• Lead design reviews and ensure compliance with customer requirements, quality standards, and internal design guidelines.
• Manage project planning, resource allocation, budgets, and on-time delivery of tooling projects.
• Coordinate with Product Development, Production, Quality, Tool Room, Maintenance, Vendors, and Customers for successful project execution.
• Guide the team during tool trials, validation, troubleshooting, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce tooling costs, improve die life, enhance productivity, and optimize manufacturing processes.
• Develop and standardize tool design practices, engineering documentation, and design standards.
• Build and mentor a high-performing design team through performance management, training, and skill development.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies, simulation tools, materials, and best practices to improve tool performance and operational efficiency.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by providing technical support, participating in technical discussions, and delivering robust tooling solutions.

Competency (Candidate Profile)

• Experience: 12-15 years in die-casting tool design (HPDC preferred) with experiencein complete tool development from concept to production.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of HPDC/LPDC/GDC die design, DFM, GD&T, CAD(Creo/NX/CATIA/SolidWorks), mould flow simulation (MAGMA/Flow-3D/Pro CAST), toolsteels, CNC/EDM, and die-casting processes.
• Leadership Skills: Team leadership, project management, cross-functionalcoordination, customer handling, and resource planning.
• Behavioural Competencies: Analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication,decision-making, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
