Job summary

Alicon Castalloy Limited is seeking an experienced Engineer Die Maintenance (TMC) to manage preventive and corrective maintenance of HPDC/LPDC dies in our Pune facility. You will support die trials, ensure quality, and drive continuous improvements.

The ideal candidate holds ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years in die maintenance, and has hands-on experience in die correction, tooling, and safety practices.

Qualifications

ITI or Diploma in mechanical engineering required.
Minimum 5 years in die maintenance, preferably HPDC/LPDC.
Experience with dies, tooling, and maintenance planning.
Knowledge of TPM, 5S, and safety practices.

Responsibilities

Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of HPDC dies to maximize uptime.
Inspect dies, troubleshoot, and perform corrective maintenance for quality.
Execute die corrections and modifications per production needs and feedback.
Analyze die defects and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Maintain storage and traceability of dies, inserts and tooling components.
Coordinate with Production, Quality and Process teams to resolve issues.
Monitor die life, maintenance history and tooling performance records.
Support new die trials, validation and ramp-up activities.
Follow 5S, TPM and safety practices in the TMC.
Drive continuous improvement to boost die performance and reduce downtime.

Experience:- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Die Maintenance, preferably in the Aluminum High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) industry.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of HPDC dies to ensure maximum machine uptime.
Perform die inspection, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance to achieve consistent product quality.
Execute die corrections and modifications based on production requirements and quality feedback.
Analyze die-related defects and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure proper maintenance, storage, and traceability of dies, inserts, and tooling components.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Process Engineering teams to resolve die-related issues.
Monitor die life, maintenance history, and tooling performance records.
Support new die trials, validation, and production ramp-up activities.
Follow standard maintenance procedures, 5S, TPM, and safety practices within the TMC.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance die performance, reduce downtime, and improve productivity.

Required Skills & Knowledge

Strong knowledge of Aluminium LPDC products and manufacturing processes.
Good understanding of die maintenance, preventive maintenance (PM), and die servicing.
Hands-on experience in die correction, fitting, polishing, and troubleshooting.
Good knowledge of casting defects, root cause analysis, and defect prevention.
Knowledge of tooling management, die life monitoring, and maintenance planning.
Familiarity with problem-solving methodologies (7 QC Tools, Why-Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, CAPA, etc.).
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
Basic manpower planning and work allocation skills.
Knowledge of quality systems, TPM, 5S, and workplace safety.
