Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. in Bengaluru seeks a Quality Engineer to review mechanical designs for manufacturability and compliance. You will lead FMEA activities, validate prototypes, and align with R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain to integrate quality early in the product lifecycle.

The role requires strong CAD/FEA skills, GD&T expertise, data analysis capabilities, and experience with PLM software. Proficiency in Power BI and presentation tools is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Design Review & Validation: review mechanical designs for manufacturability and standards compliance.

• Testing & Evaluation: review test plans and reports through prototype validation to SOP.
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA): investigate failures and define CAPAs with COEs.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: work with R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain.
• Quality Methodologies: apply Six Sigma, Lean, ISO standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design Review & Validation: Review mechanical designs, drawings, and schematics to ensure manufacturability and compliance with industry standards
• Risk Management: Lead and participate in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential design risks and define mitigation strategies
• Testing & Evaluation reports confirmation: Review test plans and reports during validation of mechanical prototypes through various stages till SOP
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate mechanical failures, defects, or customer complaints, and establish corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in consultation with COEs related to design issues
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to integrate Design Quality into the product lifecycle early stage
• Quality Methodologies: Deep understanding of quality frameworks like Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and ISO standards

Required Skills

• Proficiency in CAD Software (e.g., Unigraphics, CATIA, AutoCAD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools
• Expertise with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and metrology
• Strong data analysis skills various tools
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software (e.g., Teamcenter)
• Good presentation skill using tools like PPT, XLS and Power BI

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as QMS Certified Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
• Design background in BIW, Drive Train etc.
