Job summary

Wipro Infrastructure Engineering seeks an Assistant Manager – Supplier Quality Assurance with 10–15 years in hydraulic cylinder manufacturing or similar precision processes. You will drive supplier qualification, process audits, and APQP/PPAP activities to ensure product readiness and high quality with strong problem-solving and leadership skills.

You will read engineering drawings and GD&T, coordinate with suppliers, and implement continuous improvements to meet IATF16949 standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience in supplier qualification, development, industrialization and product launch activities for new and existing suppliers.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA and production readiness reviews.
  • Experience with IATF16949, VDA 6.3 and AIAG requirements for supplier audits and manufacturing assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier quality assurance activities across hydraulics or similar precision components.
  • Coordinate supplier process audits, system audits and manufacturing assessments.
  • Apply problem solving tools (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone) to root cause and corrective actions.
  • Ensure on-time clearance of incoming goods and effective supplier management for quality improvements.
  • Read engineering drawings, specs and GD&T to maintain dimensional/tolerance controls.

Job Title: Assistant Manager – Supplier Quality Assurance

Candidate Profile:
  • Diploma / Graduate in Mechanical Engineering
  • Should have sound Knowledge in Quality systems and drive in the precision – Engineered components in Hydraulics.
  • Excellent communication skills, team player, self-driven, high initiative.
  • Experience: 10 – 15 years
Technical Profile:
  • Extensive knowledge of hydraulic cylinder manufacturing processes or any similar process involved which including Machining, Welding, Forging, casting, Grinding, Housings, Brackets, Precision Mechanical Components and Assemblies.
  • General understanding of manufacturing process controls, special processes, heat treatment, surface finishing/coating, dimensional inspection, tooling and process capability requirements.
  • Experience in supplier qualification, development, industrialization and product launch activities for new and existing suppliers.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, Run@Rate and production readiness reviews.
  • Experience in supplier process audits, quality system audits and manufacturing assessments in accordance with IATF16949, VDA 6.3 and AIAG requirements.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, technical specifications and GD&T requirements, with good understanding of dimensional and tolerance controls.
  • Capability to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality issues through effective supplier management and process improvement.
  • Problem solving analysis skills with a logical and methodical approach (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone).
  • Experience in failure analysis related to machining, stamping, plastic and MIM processes, including root cause identification and corrective action implementation.
  • Knowledge of process capability analysis, statistical methods and continuous improvement tools to drive supplier quality performance.

  • Fluent spoken and written English. Knowing Multiple languages is plus
  • Previous working experience preferably in Hydraulic cylinder manufacturing / or any similar manufacturing process iof automotive industry.
  • Six Sigma experience, Lean Manufacturing expertise, Green/Black Belt is a plus.
  • Communicate in a clear and concise manner with all business functions and suppliers.
  • Excellent personal organization and capable of planning and managing own work.
