Job summary

Dilip Buildcon in Head Office Bhopal is seeking a Manager - Costing (Solar/ BESS) to lead cost estimation for Battery Energy Storage System projects. You will develop accurate CAPEX and OPEX estimates, analyze drawings, and collaborate with design and bidding teams to optimize solutions.

The role requires 10 years total experience with at least 5 years in BESS costing, exposure to utility-scale projects, and knowledge of solar design. Experience with SECI/NTPC tenders is a plus.

Qualifications

• 10 years total professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in BESS / energy storage / power systems costing.
• Exposure to grid-connected and/or standalone BESS projects (utility-scale preferred).

Responsibilities

• Strong expertise in Co-located BESS or Standalone BESS project costing/estimation.
• Floating enquiries to various vendors for BESS projects equipment/items, follow-ups, getting offers along with required documents.
• Evaluate vendors and subcontractor quotations, negotiate cost inputs, finalize techno-commercial comparisons and tender support.
• Prepare detailed project cost estimates (CAPEX & OPEX) for BESS projects.
• Analyze project drawings, designs, and technical documents to prepare accurate BOQs and cost breakdowns.
• Knowledge of solar design, layouts, and hybrid/BESS systems is an advantage.
• Coordinate with the design team to optimize engineering solutions for cost efficiency.
• Support the bid/tendering team with cost data, risk assessment, and pricing strategy.
• Benchmark project costs against industry standards and track market trends in BESS, and BOS equipment.

Role Objective:

To prepare accurate, competitive, and risk-optimized cost estimates for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, supporting EPC bidding, project budgeting, and post-award cost control.

Prepare detailed BOQs and cost estimates for BESS projects covering: Battery containers/racks and cells

Power Conversion System (PCS)

EMS, BMS, and control systems

Transformers, switchgear, and protection systems

Fire detection & fire suppression systems

HVAC, auxiliary power, cabling & earthing

Civil works (foundations, container pads, trenches)

Develop cost break-ups (material, erection, testing, commissioning, logistics)

Preferred Exposure

Utility-scale BESS projects (50 MWh and above)

Hybrid Solar + BESS projects

Experience with Indian utilities / SECI / NTPC / State DISCOM tenders
