Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. in Bengaluru, India is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Engineer to lead costing for electrical and electronics components, maintain BOM cost structures, and drive cost optimization across parts and assemblies.

The role requires 10–12 years in automotive cost engineering, strong proficiency in should-cost models, variance analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to support design teams on redesigns and make-vs-buy decisions.

Qualifications

• 10–12 years of experience in automotive cost analysis/engineering.
• Experience with BOMs, should-cost models and cost indexing.
• Experience with change control costing and profitability analysis.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams on part costs for new concepts and redesigns.
• Experience with make vs buy analyses and monthly material cost reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide costing expertise for Electrical & Electronics components (power electronics, wiring harness, proprietary E/E parts).
• Maintain detailed cost structures including BOM breakdowns and variance analysis.
• Manage change control costing and assess impact on part, system, and vehicle cost.
• Work with cross-functional teams to estimate BOM cost for new parts/concepts, assemblies, and redesigns.
• Benchmark competition and provide cost optimization inputs to design teams.
• Perform profitability analysis and support make vs buy decisions.
• Own monthly material cost reporting at vehicle and system level.
