Qualifications

• Experience 11-14 years in auto industry costing.
• Proficient in Excel with basic formulas.
• Auto industry & assembly manufacturing exposure.
• Costing fundamentals and budgeting expertise.
• Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
• Techno-commercial mindset in costing decisions.

Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation and Budgeting for projects based on plans, drawings and specs.
• Prepare detailed budgets, identifying labor, materials, and overheads.
• Regularly update cost estimates with scope or design changes.
• Cost Control and Monitoring to track variances against budget.
• Provide timely alerts on overruns or savings opportunities.
• Cost Analysis and Reporting with KPIs and periodic financial reports.
• Tendering and Bidding support including cost estimates for bids.
• Assist in vendor selection with cost-effective recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with financial and project standards.
• Cost Optimization by identifying savings without compromising quality or schedules.

• Regularly update cost estimates based on changes in project scope, design, or external factors.
• Cost Control and Monitoring
• Track and monitor actual project costs against budgeted costs to identify variances.
• Implement corrective actions to control costs, ensuring projects stay within budget.
• Provide timely alerts to management about potential cost overruns or savings opportunities.
• Cost Analysis and Reporting
• Perform detailed cost analysis to determine the reasons for cost variances.
• Prepare and submit periodic financial reports on project costs, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Provide detailed cost breakdowns and forecasts for ongoing and future projects.
• Tendering and Bidding
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and bid submissions by calculating cost estimates for various projects.

• Compliance and Documentation
• Ensure all cost-related activities comply with industry regulations, standards, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate and organized documentation of cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for audit and review.
• Cost Optimization
• Continuously look for ways to reduce costs while maintaining quality and project timelines.
• Suggest alternative materials or methods that could lead to cost savings without compromising on project standards.

These Role & Responsibility ensure that the Costing Engineer effectively manages the financial aspect of engineering projects, maintaining profitability and cost efficiency.

Preferably worked with Automobile industries and aware of commodities of ( Steel Rubber Plastic )
