Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal seeks an experienced PE/strategy professional to join the GCC PEPI practice in Gurugram. You will conduct commercial and operational due diligence, drive performance improvement initiatives, and support turnaround and restructuring across diverse client engagements.

You will work closely with senior leaders to shape client solutions, develop business opportunities, and help scale a fast-growing practice.

Qualifications

• 6–11 years' experience in a leading strategy or operations consulting firm or in Private Equity, Corporate Finance, or Operations.
• Strong financial acumen and advanced analytic and modelling capabilities.
• Familiarity with the private equity lifecycle and client-ready presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct commercial and operational due diligence, carve-out planning, and merger integration.
• Drive transformation and performance improvement initiatives across client engagements.
• Support turnaround and restructuring to stabilize underperforming businesses.

The A&M GCC PEPI practice is a dynamic and integral part of our global operations, collaborating closely with clients and onshore teams to deliver independent, data‑driven analysis and comprehensive, end‑to‑end services across the private equity investment lifecycle. Our team specializes in providing strategic support for critical areas such as due diligence and performance improvement initiatives, ensuring our clients achieve sustainable value creation.

The Team

Our GCC PEPI team is based in Gurugram and plays a pivotal role in driving impactful transformations across multiple geographies and industries.

Role

• Pre‑Acquisition Support: Conducting commercial and operational due diligence, carve‑out planning, and merger integration to ensure seamless transitions and informed decision‑making.
• Transformation and Performance Improvement: Driving initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, optimize processes, and deliver measurable results.
• Turnaround and Restructuring: Supporting operational turnarounds and restructuring efforts to stabilize and revitalize underperforming businesses.
• Exit Readiness and Execution: Preparing portfolio companies for successful exits by maximizing value and ensuring strategic alignment.

How You Will Contribute

• Deliver high‑impact solutions across diverse projects: Commercial Due Diligence, Operational Due Diligence, Financial Due Diligence, IT Due Diligence, Performance Improvement, Turnaround and Restructuring, Exit Readiness.
• Collaborate with Senior Leadership: Work closely with Managing Directors and Senior Directors to design and implement innovative solutions for complex business challenges.
• Contribute to Business Development: Actively participate in identifying new opportunities, developing client relationships, and shaping innovative service offerings tailored to market needs.

Qualifications

• Professional Experience: 6‑11 years in a leading strategy or operational consulting firm, or relevant experience in Private Equity, Corporate Finance, or Operations.
• Core Competencies: Exceptional problem‑solving skills, strong financial acumen, deep understanding of key business and operational drivers; advanced analytical, financial modelling and presentation skills; familiarity with private equity lifecycle.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel modelling, ability to structure and analyze data, synthesize information and recommend solutions.
